Lovely little pub, sat and read about the history while having our drinks. Nick was so welcoming and chatty!

Best pub in the world, nothing to complain about. Nick and Julia are the most accommodating hosts and really give the place a soul. Anyone that leaves a bad review is lying and is misguided.

This is an incredible place and I really mean it. I'd happily rearange my job and life to live in this wee place above the pub. If you're looking for somewhere special then this is the place! It was like being in a good book that you don't want to end. Julia and Nik are the most amazing people and just wonderful to have met. I can't thank you enough for the absolutely magical stay we had with you! X

My 10 year old daughter and I popped in for an afternoon drink when passing and the Landlord, Landlady and a regular customer could not have been friendlier. A lovely old fashioned proper pub. They are not doing food at the moment, just excellent beer and service. Recommended.

We had a fantastic time at this pub! The atmosphere inside is very inviting with lots of cool stuff on the walls and comfy chairs, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal. We were impressed with the German food on offer. I had the pork schnitzel with chips, which was cooked to perfection - crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. My partner opted for the foot-long currywurst, and it was equally impressive. The portions are very generous, and the food quality is outstanding. Everything was cooked from scratch and tasted fresh and delicious. If you're looking for a place with great vibes and excellent food, this pub is a must-visit!

Proper pub this. Nice atmosphere, even though quiet when we called in last Sunday. The mark of a great pub? They have a fire going, even when there's nobody there, because they know it's a must for people dropping in to a country pub in winter. Lovely chap behind the bar, good music and dogs allowed. We'll be booking in for a Sunday roast some time soon. Excellent!

Loved this place! Such a find! Food from the portions, to the taste were fantastic. Nicest food we have had in a very long time. Could not fault in anyway If you're looking for a cosy pub, with great food and really lovely down to earth owners, this place is a must Will definitely be going back

My boyfriend and I are staying nearby and this place was one of the only pubs open for dinner on a Monday. We were AMAZED at the food, it was absolutely delicious. It seems a bit to rogue, itβs very remote but the cuisine is unreal. Itβs an all German menu, the Krakauer bratwurst was so, so good and the portions are very generous. I had the onion soup as a main and it was more than enough for me, it was as equally delicious. The staff are so friendly and wonderful, we had a great time there and if we are ever in this neck of the woods again will definitely visit again. The meals are incredible value for money as well. Could not recommend this place enough, itβs 10/10, an excellent place to eat and have a pint.

Excellent hosts,,lovely olde pub with German menu. Food was German and very nice cooked by the owner herself from her mums receipts. Great games room with pool and darts,, ample parking and outside terrace. Something different will return

We called in on the off chance there was a table free. And they managed to get us in. The food was absolutely amazing. I had the chicken skewer and all I can say was the portion was huge. I have a good appetite but couldn't finish it. My husband had the pie and again, very good portion. Such tasty, hot home cooked food. Thank you we really enjoyed it
