We have been coming to Dower House for a long time. Always friendly and great service. Coffee is one of the best in Berkhamsted. Lovely pastries!!

Nice coffee in a lovely building. Hot chocolate is okay. Kinder Brownies used to be great and the main reason we would go, but they've recently started cutting them in half and charging the same £4 for them! They were an expensive treat beforehand but now just too expensive
Visited Dower House Coffee today with my boyfriend for our anniversary for the first time and was not disappointed! Will definitely be looking to return in the future. We had a caramel brownie, almond croissant and hot chocolates and I honestly couldn't fault them whatsoever, the brownie that I had was especially yummy. They also had milk alternatives for those who need it. The building itself is really cute and I like the way that the cafe is split into different rooms so there is a good amount of seating indoors and outdoors. The space is also decorated very nicely and I like the aesthetic. The staff are very polite and friendly which made our experience today even better too. I can see there are a couple of negative reviews on here but I would not be put off. The staff I encountered today are very helpful and would be willing to accommodate additional needs where possible (such as access) and we really should be supporting small businesses such as this whenever we can. Keep up the amazing work guys :)
Being an Australian and coming from Melbourne it is hard to find good quality coffee, but this place has not disappointed. I’ve tried iced and hot coffee’s and both have been amazing. I’m not local, but I wish I was because this coffee beats the pants of anything you find in London. I will say the service, although good could be more attentive to outside. A couple of times I have sat outside for 45 minutes to an hour, thinking about another coffee and no one has come to the table to clear the empty glass or ask if I would like another coffee
Exceptional coffee, incredible (and delicious) range of cakes and pastries and a lovely team of staff. Also a nice change to the chain coffee shops - it's a really unique space with a great independent vibe.
Cute coffee shop at the end of the high street. Nice setting and staff. Good coffee. Available to enter from car park. Cakes are well made and there’s plenty of seating. There is a workspace upstairs for those who want a change of scenery.
My first visit here to this relatively new cafe, and pleasantly surprised by the quality of the coffee. I look forward to enjoying their open sandwiches and other treats. Good luck.
We had good tea and coffee with a toastie, chocolate croissant and sourdough toast. Mostly pastries before 11.00, then I believe they have sandwiches and wraps too.
