Adorable elderly staff member was really helpful and sweet, gave me scissors and a space so I could wrap gifts up.

It's alright. Just an average garden centre and gift shop. The ginger cake in the cafe is fabulous although the service is very slow.

We went to this place arriving at 11.25 am and the breakfast board was displayed at the door till 11.30. I asked for two breakfasts to be informed they had finished serving. I suggested that they therefore should have removed the menu and changed the finish time. The young lady on the till was apologetic, then a sour faced young waitress with a pny tail and attitude, told my wife that we should come earlier. Last time for us as Wetherspoons is far better food and service and cheaper. E.g.small custard tart £3.25. Disgusting. Avoid at all costs.

Great variety of plants. Lots of products for the home and garden. Still the same Updated 2023: prices have increased massively since my last visit and menu look more restricted Garden Centre part is still great with great varieties of plants Good breakfast at reasonable price if you get the early bird one

We each helped ourself to a scone in the cafe yesterday, with the tongs provided. As we got to the till one of the ladies behind the counter shouted at us in an aggressive manner. She stated that there was a sign at the entrance telling people it was not self service, which clearly we hadn't seen. She stated that "People could die as a result of this action due to cross contamination." When we asked her why tongs were provided she said it was because otherwise people would use their hands instead! I would suggest that unless you install a glass screen between the food items and the customer that you remove the tongs and put the sign adjacent to the food where it can clearly be seen.

Popped in to buy cards - as with several other places, less selection than there used to be. Staff very pleasant and helpful and good choice of gift options

This is more than just a garden centre. The range of things unrelated to gardening that you can buy here is extensive and the actual garden centre just part of the total shopping experience. My interest was in the garden centre. The 2 stars relate to the actual garden centre which in my view is extremely expensive. In terms of the range of garden materials and plants available, and value for money, it merits 2 stars at most. . And we left very soon after seeing the prices. Not a Garden Centre I can recommend. Much better.... Minshulls Garden Centre at Bradfield Green.

I only go there to buy birthday cards as it has a really good selection. Also I buy reduced clothes from the Regatta range. Occasionally I may buy the odd plant if it has been reduced. It is an expensive shop to buy plants.

The garden centre is lovely but the cafe is very disappointing. I went in this morning with my daughter and 2 grandsons. Just wanting 2 sausage toasties off a children's menu. But that wasn’t possible unless we had extras. So we had to get 2 sausage toasters with chips which they didn't need. My daughter and I had just wanted cheese toasties but that had to come with chips. 2 cups of tea. 2 small cakes and that came up over £53. It’s wasn’t very warm either so we didn’t take our coats off. It’s not a very blush cafe so why it’s so expensive I do not know. Never again.
