   My first time in this place, I had a very nice and good hairdresser. He really understood what I wanted and ensured to give me easy-to-follow natural suggestions for my hair. Haircut was perfect, and he did very minimal styling to match my natural hair tendencies and give it a bit more volume. Second time was not as great as the new hairdresser (whilst being lovely) had suggestions that don’t match my hair type or my own style, and ended up straightening my hair quite a lot. I didn’t enjoy the final style at all but the cut was clean and well-done, and after a wash, I managed to get my hair back to the shape I enjoy. If you come in, ask for Elijah!

   I booked an appointment for hot wax and specified this in my phone call. Changed my dates around because they didn't have anyone to do it on my chosen date. I was running 5 min late and called and informed the staff. When I got there, they told me they haven't got time to do hot wax because I was 5 min late. I thought this was very rude and poor customer service. They didn't note when booking I wanted a hot wax and made an error. There was no apology for this. Should they have noted that I needed a hot wax they would have been prepared. However they kept blaming me for being late. Been here a few times and will never go back again after such disrespectful customer service. The staff are not attentive at all.

   Had my hair cut and coloured yesterday by Corinna - amazing! She turned a frizzy brush into something elegant and dynamic. Also recommended for hair by Lianne, and waxing by Louise. A lovely friendly spa with services just as good as in the West End and better value. Recommended.

   Attended for a cut and blow-dry. Ultimately, I had a very negative experience whilst at the salon (1/5) and complained directly via email. This complaint was dealt with promptly and I was called by the owner who apologised profusely for the experience (hence the 2/5 rating). I was given £8 off my haircut which doesn't really make up for the experience, but I did appreciate the apology and the assurance that steps will be made to improve. The owner invited me back to the salon, but I have no intention of returning. If nothing else, my visit to 171 Hair & Beauty was a good reminder that it isn't all the cut; but also about how the people, the service and the experience make you feel.

   I did the hair balayage with Giuseppe. I'm very happy with the final result. I love my hair. I did the eyelash lift and manicure with Olga too. Amazing job! They are very professional, I will definitely come back

   Can't speak highly enough of the team. I have been to the beauty side for years and the waxing is so quick and painless. Last weekend I had my nails done and a blow dry and it was brilliant. That head massage too....divine! I also took my little boy and they were so sweet with him. Lovely experience!

   Good salon offering hair and beauty treatments. Staff are very professional and competent, I've had haircuts and waxings from a few different people and never left unhappy. It's not super frills (robes, fountains, green smoothies etc.), but is a great option for well done, reasonably priced, everyday services. Be warned they only take cash.
