Staff were nice enough. The room we had on the 2nd floor was basic and fine for a night, apart from the grotty bathroom, I wouldnβt shower my dog in there but for 1 night itβs fine it is what it is. The biggest problem we had was zero sleep. The windows have no noise reduction, we kept checking that they were definitely closed as it felt like the window was wide open and we could hear any slight noise through the night, anybody walking past just chatting away we could hear full conversations and unfortunately it was bin collection day so could hear all that going on forever too. Wouldnβt stay here again!

Usually we love to stay here as it has the perfect location. Although on this occasion even though we booked 3 months in advance we were told there was a mix up and we had to pay for a higher priced room. Instead we took the offer of a refund. Having this booked as a Christmas present after you've been walking around in the cold to be then told your previous reservation isn't in place due to over bookings so close to Christmas is ridiculous. People who book in advance should be top priority due to the thought of doing so. I don't think we will be staying here again.

I usually stay with one of the other big hotel chains, but this time in York I decided to try the Travelodge in Piccadilly. I was pleasantly surprised. The room looked newly refurbished, everything was spotless, and the whole place had a far more refined feel than I expected. It changed my view of Travelodge completely. What truly set the stay apart was the service. PG gave us a warm and professional welcome on arrival, and the next morning Kayleig greeted us with the kind of genuine smile that starts the day on the right foot. York is a city I plan to visit a few times over the coming year, and I will be choosing this hotel again without question. For its excellent staff, clean and modern rooms, and overall quality, I recommend the Travelodge York Piccadilly without hesitation. If you are heading to York, stay here.

Perfect location for the center and close to the long stay car park which was free to park in with a disabled badge. Staff were very helpful and provided myself with a city map. The hotel is backed onto a spoons which I enjoyed but could see how others might not. There was traffic noise but that is not the hotels fault but just something to note for others, you are on a main road it is expected. Dropping a star as there was a few hairs in the bathtub and my room I think was situated next to a water tank as there was a few odd noises throughout the night

Perfect location to the centre, I've stayed here twice. First time went smoothly lovely clean room. Second time, our bathroom toilet and shower overflowed from blocked drains. We were quickly changed rooms to freshen up before leaving for home. Would definitely recommend and will be staying again.

Stayed for my birthday as had a nice experience the first time I stayed. This time was AWFUL! Firstly when I called to see if we could check in early the woman on the phone was RUDE! If you have a room facing the front donβt expect to sleep. The windows donβt fully close. Traffic constantly. Itβs louder than you imagine. We had noisy neighbours to the side and above preventing sleep until 4:30am! Maintenance works for next door on the website as a warning, says trying to keep disruption to a minimum, lies, was GOD AWFUL and you think itβll be alright when you read that but they started at 6AM!!!!!!!! Got here for 5:30AM though! Didnβt think construction men could start until way after that! Making the biggest racket. Dropping pipes constantly. RIGHT outside our window!!! Absolutely ridiculous and this time had an unpleasant stay. Location is fine but I wonβt be coming back. First stay was quiet and delightful. Birthday was just ruined from an awful experience. If you want a quiet night donβt come here especially during these works happening!

Myself, my wife and our 16 year old son had a very pleasant one night stay here. The hotel is located only a short walk from the city centre and there is a good car park 100 yards away. Β£13 per 24hrs and you pay on exit. The hotel and room was clean and the staff were friendly. There is also a Wetherspoon directly beneath the hotel, so you're sorted for breakfast/cheap food and drinks if that is your desire. Would definitely stay again.

The room was very clean and functional, no complaints at all in that regard. However it's really loud, and getting to sleep can be difficult. We could hear everything happening outside as if the windows were wide open (they were closed fully), and we could also hear everything through the walls... (You could clearly make out people's private conversations, and even the bed sheets shuffling). I would recommend looking elsewhere.

I stayed here on business. The staff were extremely friendly throughout my stay, even pleasantly offering advice on a 24 hour shop when I came in a little worse for wear in the early hours of the morning. The room was very tidy, well presented and most of all, clean. The bed was also nice and comfortable. The location isn't particularly far from the main town centre, but should be noted that the street, although a main route into the main city centre is quite dark at night.

Well placed for the city centre and all its attractions. Room was decent enough and clean, suited our needs for a couple of days. There is a Wetherspoons attached to the hotel which our room looked down onto an open courtyard. With the world cup on let's say it got quite lively! Didn't bother us to be fair and we slept well.
