Worst customer service I have come across in my life - especially from Steve & Darren. They were incredibly rude when I queried why online prices differed from in store. Also, considering it’s going to be closed, the discounts aren’t too great - don’t be fooled! Just because the store is going into administration, there is no need to be so short and abrupt with customers. No one offered to help me carry two olive trees to my car despite weighing a tonne. Absolutely appalling customer service.

It's Homebase, but not as we know it, as this is Homebase on the ground floor of a former John Lewis store, and little has been changed to the lighting or floors, so for DIY it feels quite posh! The product range is good and prices generally competitive. It's also usually really quiet and the staff are eager to help, so that's a positive too!

I went around 6pm and it was very easy to get around as it was so quiet.

Cannot fault the staff here always so helpful and friendly. My friends daughter accidentally grabbed a cactus tonight, which lead to some tears and us in a panic trying to grab lots of tiny prickles from her palms and fingers - Mary was on hand to offer some tweezers and assistance and even helped to calm her down. Absolute asset to the store!

I was so excited to get a Homebase local as you usually get good value for money. Compared to Homebases I've visited over the last couple of years - the range in the store seems to be either premium or exceedingly over priced. Very little to choose from. I thought B&Q can be expensive but this store takes it to a whole new level.

There's not really much here tbh. With Wickes, a large B&Q, and Dunn Elm all a stone's throw away, this place is more (or probably less) of the same. I've gone in a few times to look for something I've needed and every time I've found B&Q and Dunn Elm have more choice and stock available to take that day.

Having worked for Homebase for nearly 10 years at their Llandudno store which sadly closed, I was excited to learn they were opening a new store in Chester. The store looks great and is ultra modern and inviting. I'm not sure why they did not use the upstairs space to showcase their kitchens & bathrooms but maybe this is coming at a later date. I wish them well in their rollout of new stores. I thoroughly enjoyed my time working for them.
