A massive thankyou to Mr Simon Tollet and the fantastic team at Acorn Veterinary Surgery for supporting the safeguarding campaign with us here at Learn About : the parents and children within the local schools and community especially St Wilfrid's C of E Aided Primary School. Acorn Veterinary Surgery are a reliable, friendly, and fairly priced vet practice that many pet owners trust for everyday care. We can highly recommend.

I am not one to usually share negative reviews. I will always express the frustration In person to give them a chance to become aware of the issue which I have done. I have met with the owner about how disgraceful the service we received was when we had to put our down just over 3 months ago. He said he would respond to which I gave him 2.5 months without hearing anything and nothing. So I walked up to the surgery and mentioned there had been no reply to which he said it would be replied to. Still nothing. I am sharing this as I would hate for anyone to receive the same level of care we did during such a heartbreaking time. We was told to get to the surgery are 4.20 to put our dog down that was beyond heartbreaking for us. We let them know we was there outside and waited around 20 minutes without any comms. My partner went in and explained it wasn't fair and so we was brought into the room. We waited a further 10/15 minutes while my dog laid in discomfort on a solid table waiting for the vet. The Vet came in with what seemed like a fed up attitude as if we were the ones being impatient. I asked a few questions about what would happen in terms of heart beat? would he pass straight away. This was met with an attitude as if I was an inconvenience for asking and made me and my partner feel incredibly uncomfortable. There was little to no explanation about the process and there was zero empathy or compassion during the whole process. My dog passed away peacefully but instead of it being a lovely peaceful experience for me and my partner, it was incredibly uncomfortable and I did everything within my power to not get angry at how we was being treated as I didnt want my dog stressed final minutes. My partner discussed the cremation options while again he seemed short and annoyed that she was asking questions about the names to be put on the box and seeking a little clarity. The one thing they did kindly was give us as much time in the room as possible but my dog had released faeces on the table as his body relaxed which was left there as the vet left. So me and my partner sat in the smell of faeces, the already awfully smelling room and next to the used needle that had been used to put my dog down that was just lying on the side. It was utterly disgusting from start to finish. The state of the whole surgery from the rooms that are just filled with clutter, to the smell that is completely unnoticeable from the minute you walk in right through to the way we was treated was awful. I can't urge people enough not to go anywhere near this surgery if considering the euthanasia of a pet. The young lady on reception was lovely and was the only slight positive of the whole experience.

I was disgusted with the i was treated with my very sick dog. I phoned them to see if I could speak to the vet or get a early appointment as my appointment wasn't until 4.30 and he was in a bad way.first the woman on phone said I couldn't. In the end she told me to bring him in at 2.30 but to leave the dog outside while I booked him in. She had a very bad attitude and I was already up set about my dog.i didn't take him in I found a really carrying vet that had to put him to sleep and he to me bring him in straight away. Would never go back there.

The lady who says she part owns this vets is rude and unprofessional. I needed an appointment and was spoken to in a patronising way when i was just trying to arange a time to being my cat in for euthanasia. Ive read reviews about her before on line and unfortunately for me i drew short sraw today as she answered. The young girls on reception have more understanding and compassion and i for the life of me can not understand why shes in the role she is of she has such a huge chip on her shoulder. I asked repeatedly for her name and she wouldnt give it she then turned to someone near her and called me a nightmare . How can so many people be wrong if were all saying the same thing about this rude passive aggressive women . I think its time for her to leave and let the vets simon and the lovely lady vet get on with running the place as they are the glue that holds that vets together. Avoid this llace if you want basic compassion and understanding when dealing with a poorly pet .

Vile older lady receptionist answering the phone, disgusting the way she speaks to people. Very sarcastic and aggressive. Simon the vet is a ok vet but can't wash his hands when he sticks his fingers up a dogs bottom, what can result in passing parasites to other animals and is unhygienic, if you voice concerns you will be shouted down and belittled, and told to go elsewhere, avoid

Ive used Acorn for over 10 years. Our rescue dog went in to get spayed, she made a great recovery, her scar is absolutely minimal, healed so well. Simon and Becky are wonderful with animals

The people at acorn vets are kind and considerate and treat everyone and there animals with respect and compassion. Simon (the lead vet) knows his stuff and tells you how it is with no nonsence. ive been going there for 25 years approxmately with all my animals and have great faith, respect and time for the surgery, the same as they have had for me though good times and bad. Sometimes they run late but who cares when there being treated by the best. Thanks acorn vets for everything over the years, Bravo!

Very good surgery. We love doctor Simon, he is very knowledgeable and always gives a good advice when we ask. Saved our dog when he was very sick and our previously registered surgery at Southfields Veterinary Surgery would not arrange a emergency visit
