On arrival there were a group of lads smoking cannabis outside, not a great first impression. The restaurant was closed due to a staff member calling in sick last minute. One lift was out of service. The smell in the hallways was putrid , fusty smell that they had tried to mask. Carpets were dusty and old . Mattress was hard and lumpy same as the pillows. No soap in the dispenser in bathroom or shower area. Carpets were dirty with dust all around the edges . Safe to say we will not be staying there again. Expensive with no breakfast included. Good job work paid for it but even so we expected better standards . The staff however were amazing.

Terrible service, shabby and tired rooms. I asked for a couple more pillows, as there were only two provided in the room. The two women on reception clearly didn’t want to help. Apparently they asked housekeeping who told them there weren’t any spare pillows…in a three star hotel?! I asked if they were full, maybe I could use some from another room. They said they were fully booked and then proceeded to give me directions to a nearby ASDA to go and buy some pillows!! Luckily, the manager was there and couldn’t believe his ears. He told me the hotel wasn’t fully booked at all, and he promptly delivered two pillows to my room. The room was tatty with the desk area coming apart and carpet stains. The toilet barely flushed. The bar closes at 11am, for some unknown reason. One of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in, with appalling service from the reception staff and a very shabby room. Look elsewhere!

Rooms lovely and comfortable, tea and facilities in room. Lovely staff and food nice too. Definitely recommend. Only thing is it is looking a bit tired and could do with a freshen up but other than that, lovely hotel.

It's fine, the rooms are clean and relatively comfortable. I did have an issue with my heating which locked for some reason and I didn't have the code to unlock it. It wasn't much of a problem as it wasn't too cold. Fixtures and fittings are becoming a bit worn out. The staff were friendly and helpful.

I recently stayed at the Ramada Wakefield and was extremely disappointed. The rooms are incredibly old-fashioned and in serious need of updating β€” tired decor, worn-out furniture, and a generally drab atmosphere. The shower was visibly dirty, with grime around the edges, making it feel unhygienic and uncomfortable to use. Breakfast was another letdown. It was very basic and honestly quite disgusting β€” bland, greasy, and clearly low-quality. Definitely not worth the price. Overall, I wouldn't recommend staying here unless it's your only option. There are much better hotels in the area for the same price or less. To top it off, the receptionists were quite distracted and came across as rude and uninterested. There was no real welcome or helpful attitude, just a sense that guests were an inconvenience.

Absolutely lovely staff - so friendly and helpful and it makes such a difference. Our room was immaculate - perfect for the nights stay. Six of us are in the restaurant and it was really nice - all in all excellent value - great location - great breakfast and brilliant staff. Thank you.

This was a disgrace of a hotel. Very unprofessional. Triple room - a double bed and mattress on the floor they say is a kids bed. Which had a shelf right over it! Dirty marks in the shower room. The food frozen chips - after being cooked 3 times by a non chef! Frozen still hard veg. Cottage pie or chicken nuggets was the only option for main. Would I recommend? No would I come again? No I am claiming against this hotel.

All getting a bit tatty. Our room wasn't serviced for two days. Apparently we are "short of staff" is now a valid reason for not providing basic services. We had that many used towels in our bath we could have opened our own laundry business. Overall staff are very polite and helpful but they are fighting a losing battle to maintain standards. Prices have doubled but quality has halved. We have stayed many times before but left disappointed

I used this hotel services for 4 weeks straight, my view about it is mixed, staff was always very attentive, polite and helpful. Room service (cleaner) was a bit too fiddle. Food for me as bit let down as it seemed to be all heated and we was served buffet because we was part of a big group. Overall was a nice experience and hotel rooms are big enough and clean.

We checked in very late and the night staff were extremely helpful and friendly, very welcoming. The morning staff however were an entirely different story. Extremely rude and unwilling to help. This ruined the friendly atmosphere we were greeted with at the start, after one night we chose to leave and continue or stay elsewhere, even tho the hotel has a convenient location.
