   I would like to share some excellent customer service I received at B&Q Southport. I was looking to purchase a lamp which was out of stock in store and online, I had really set my heart on this lamp, Sue sorted it all out and arranged for me to buy the one on display, not only was I elated but I got it for half price ! Sue was friendly and genuinely cared about helping me. It makes such a difference, I left the store extremely satisfied thanks to her, she is a credit to B&Q

   On Monday I made an early morning visit to B&Q for paint. I needed a few colours mixing and also needed some advice. Mike who was covering the paint section was amazing. I had a number of questions and he answered them with patience and a sense of humour (when needed). Thanks Mike 10/10 for customer service

   Went in for some garden paint in the afternoon, quickly picked it up, paid at self service with colleague verifying I was of age (I'm over 25). Came back in 2 hours later for another can as it ran out quickly and I was rejected despite having been in earlier for not having ID. What a waste of time - if a 17 year old looked like me they've had a rough life to say the least.

   Reasonable size DIY store selling a variety of homewares, tools, building materials and gardening goods. Staff are friendly and helpful. Recently a number of self service tills have been installed to replace the checkouts. Prices can be high, particularly for some smaller items. It’s always worth checking Screwfix prices online!

   Convenient location and wide selection of stuff — the garden section is pretty good (although the staff in that section are a little clueless and look bothered if you ask them a question). Otherwise, the employees can be very helpful. Today, for instance, Luke in tiling — who was in the middle of stacking a huge section of shelves — stopped what he was doing and patiently answered all our questions and then went with us to checkout to make sure our large order was being properly handled. Couldn’t have been more helpful or friendlier. Exemplary. A+++
