I stayed at 1885 in Stainland for a week.
The room was warm and spacious.
It felt like being in a 4 star hotel.
The restaurant offers a good choice of food. I tried a different main course every evening and I have to say the portions were yummy and quite big.
The stake is delicious and the wine was excellent.
Nathan was a very polite and welcoming host.
The original building was built in 1885 and one could feel it's presence in some of the décor in the restaurant.
I enjoyed every minute of my stay.

Was a lovely clean , welcoming place. We stayed over for a night as it was close to an event we were attending. The hotel room was exceptionally clean and had everything we required. Food in the restaurant was lovely too.

Pub is nice and cosy. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Food is generally of a good standard. Unfortunately my salmon and prawn noodle dish was overpoweringly salty and didn't have much other flavour which was disappointing. Visually it looked nice and the ingredients were spot on but definitely overseasoned. The bacon and brie sandwich however was very nice with great accompaniments and my daughter really enjoyed it.
