   I booked a trip to this hotel for my daughter and her fiance for Christmas. 2 nights, bed breakfast and evening meal. The room they were given was disgusting. Mould, dirty and very small and overall response was disinterested at best. It was so bad they did not stay the 2nd night. Food was ok hence 1 star. They did give them a treatment is spa as compensation but all spa staff were aware they had complained and made this evident. Not great at all and so disappointing as a gift.

   Not worth the money. While the greens were in good condition, half of the fairways were rather bare of grass and the tee boxes were some of the worst I have ever seen. They were so uneven it made some shots off the tee impossible to keep on a fairway without using something like an 8 iron. Granted it sees a lot of traffic but what we found was inexcusable. Very glad I didn't take a membership here and won't be returning soon.

   facilities ok /golf course ok and starter very helpful on both days ,service in bar very stretched and breakfast absolute none starter service very poor !!! Was told cooked breakfast £15 extra but no service or direction from staff on duty in restaurant !!! Will not be returning !!

   Booked and paid in advance, drove over 20 miles to get there to find the pro shop was not open even after our tee time, greenkeepers came and said course closed and had to stand around letting golfers know they cannot play even though they had booked and paid, nothing online and recieved no email or message saying the course was or could be closed, very disappointed and put off going to this course again, was very looking forward to playing this course but for a premium priced course you would at least expect for it to be open on time to speak to someone or let known in advance that the course would not be open, greenkeepers said pro shop should have been open at 8am, 8.35 comes and still nobody so had to leave without even knowing if we could be refunded poor customer service

   The golf course has a good layout and in reasonable condition given the lack of rain/drought conditions. The rooms are comfy, but disappointed to see mould around the bath/shower which is pretty easy to remove nowadays. Breakfast and our evening meal were ok, but it took an age to bring the evening meal out. A lack of staff was quite apparent. The staff that were there were friendly, helpful and professional. For the price it's hard to complain, but it's not an outstanding venue, pretty much everything is ok, not terrible but not fantastic either.

   Played Mottram Hall today and felt compelled to leave a good review. The course was awesome. Nice wide fairways with plenty of features and character. Interesting greens with tricky pin placements and lots of bunkers to catch you out. The course was in really good condition. I have played a few courses in the area and so far Mottram is my favourite. And it’s long, so plenty of opportunities to use the driver and fairway woods. We paid £25 each for a twilight round mid-week which is an absolute bargain.
