   We haven’t been able to stay, due to refugees being put up in this hotel. We have booked for July this year for one night as we are going to a concert at the Open Air Theatre. Having booked early this year for the room we decided to go and book our car in. We were greeted with 3 security guards at the door who informed us that the hotel wasn’t open to the public. We told them we had confirmation of the booking in July. He said No, the hotel wouldn’t be open to the public this year! We have cancelled the booking and have booked at the Grand Hotel now. My husband has since rang Britannia and told them that Booking.com is still taking bookings for that night and any other stays! If we hadn’t visited Scarborough that day and gone to book our car in, we would have turned up that day expecting to check in for the night and the hotel being closed to the general public. People need to know as I am sure there will be others who have booked into this hotel. It is still being advertised on Booking.com so clearly Britannia have done nothing.

   Avoid This hotel the Cleaning of places officials never gets done as me and my partner stay and discovered Bed bugs in beds that where provided . When we turn up had wait 40 minutes to get book in they. Didn’t have us in their books . Because the bed bugs had leave early hours come back next day to complain as they was no one on reception . The next day we was slag of by staff waited another 40 minutes see we could get refund Only got back the £30 £73 I spent this room !

   It was very unhygienic throughout the rooms with bedbugs. the waiting area stunk of smoke from one off the staff members shud atleast have the decency in reception area to make it welcoming and smell nice. Also the staff were unpleasant they were funny about giving a refund and talking things about loud to other staff members with all this it took me to make them realise how bad it is to get a refund But

   I stay here regularly while working in Mansfield. It's in need of renovation but you get what you pay for - it's cheap and cheerful, clean and comfortable. Decent breakfast cooked to order. Best features: generous supplies of tea and coffee in the room, lovely friendly staff! If you're on a budget I totally recommend

   Nice and clean hotel. Staff are friendly. Stayed there for a night in one of the rooms, it was big. Breakfast in the morning was also good. Toilet and bathroom is small. Great location, only few minutes walking distance from the city centre. There is a big Tesco about 10 mins walking distance.

   Our twin room and the adjoining bathroom were small but clean and comfortable. The staff were all lovely and the full English breakfast was fantastic. The location was perfect, just a few minutes' walk to town center. We would happily stay again!
