Room wasn't quite ready as we were a little early so he managed to find us one that was ready - rooms very clean tidy and comfortable would recommend anyone coming to the area to stay here .”

“Called in to Forest Lodge about 4-15 on Sat 1st Nov for drinks and food.Was served by Scarlett in what was a very busy pub with people watching sport.She seemed to be working the bar on her own but was very efficient and polite.Great to see a young lady doing a fantastic job in a busy environment with a smile on her face.5 stars from us”

“Nice and clean hotel. Staff are friendly. Stayed there for a night in one of the rooms, it was big. Breakfast in the morning was also good. Toilet and bathroom is small. Great location, only few minutes walking distance from the city centre. There is a big Tesco about 10 mins walking distance.”

“If you come here for luxury you’re coming to the wrong place. BUT: It’s a budget hotel with a bar attached next to a bus and train station. The rooms do what they say on the tin and most staff are excellent. The rooms are clean; the bar is good, the TVs work (mostly), the WiFi isn’t the best but name a hotel that has excellent WiFi. There’s good connections to travel and it’s next to the bustling town of Mansfield (you know that excellent town) It is worth noting that some of the clientele aren’t great and if you’re there for 37 days (like I was) it’s a challenge. But the staff made the stay, and the hotel is not at all that bad. In fact for the price and if your expectations are right it will exceed them all. Thank you for a good stay.”

“I come down 4-6 time a year for work and have always stayed at the Lodge (approx 8yrs). This is a small family run business. They always go the extra mile and make me feel so welcome. Food portions are great and cooked to perfection. There is a small car park and one Electric hook up. They have a nice little garden area where you can sit outside on a good day. Definitely recommend it.”
