I have been a customer since 2006 when I moved to Croydon. Every time I go to Angelo Gents Barbers, I receive a warm welcome and am made to feel comfortable. The gents are very skilled in their trade and ensure you leave feeling more than satisfied. The atmosphere is great, the gents offer fun, laid back conversation and always make me smile. Their prices are also very competitive.
Recently got a haircut that just wasn’t right, and I was pretty anxious about getting it fixed. But, Angelo came to the rescue! As someone in the hairdressing industry myself, I could immediately tell that he knew his craft inside and out. He effortlessly corrected the previous cut, and the results were spot on. The ambiance of the barbershop was welcoming, too. At first, I assumed it was just another barbershop with a random name, but I learned it’s named after the main man, Angelo. A cool touch, if you ask me. If you’re looking for a cut from a pro who truly understands hair, Angelo’s your guy! ^^
Best place in Croydon bar none. Always feel welcome & comfortable, always leave with exactly what I want. Angelo & Kris are top fellas. I don't go anywhere else and neither should you.
Extremely bad customer service! Long story short: They embarrassed me, and also skipped me, when it was my turn, for another customer they new, who had an appointment (if he actually had any) after me. AVOID at all costs, especially IF YOU ARE A FOREIGNER with a strange name, as myself! (I am sorry for the long text, but I feel the need to describe what happened to me, so to prevent other people to feel the same way as me) Long story: I am new in the area and when I decided to go to Angelo's for a haircut, I thought I was going to the best barber shop in town (judging from the reviews). However, being the best is not only about being good at haircuts, but it's also about being good with customers and respect them. I went yesterday to make an appointment, which was this morning. So, I went this morning to have my haircut and finally get rid off the lockdown hair style. Now, as soon as I went there things started getting not as expected. One gentleman there (I am assuming was Angelo) asked me if I had an appointment, and after I said yes and asked me for my name to check the list, he either laughed at my accent or laughed at my name, but regardless he surely laughed at me (in a bad way), and I know that because as soon as I said my name, he found it on the list, he repeated my name and laughed. He then said that they were a little bit behind on schedule and asked me if I minded to wait (which I found polite at that moment), and of course I didn't mind to wait, even though they were 2 people ahead of me (which is a little bit too much behind, considering that you are working ONLY with appointments, but anyway..). When my turn finally came, that gentleman asked me if I minded to wait for 10 minutes so he can clean his station, and obviously I said yes, I really didn't mind. However, as soon as he cleaned his station, he started talking to a regular customer of his that had come to the barber shop by that point and was after me, while completely ignoring me (and ignoring the fact that is Thursday morning and obviously some of us need to work instead of having a chat). He then asked that regular if he could type a text for him as he had an infection and couldn't take off his gloves. At that point, another customer comes in which was probably another regular customer or friend of his, and even though his turn was after mine, he completely skipped me and said to the guy that just entered the shop to take a seat and have his hair done before everyone else! And not only, he completely skipped me (and the other person that was exactly after me), but he didn't even ask me if I was ok with it!
I have no hesitation in recommending Angelo's barber shop and would say it is the BEST BARBERS in Croydon. Angelo gave me a really good haircut and shaved off my beard that I had had for 3 months for a really good price of £15. The decor is very nice and he is very friendly and professional. I will definitely be going again when I need a haircut. I could not get better for the same quality in the West End. Easy to find as it is just off the High Street near Surrey Street market in Robert Stree
Went back today for my first haircut since lockdown. The place has been refitted with a fresh new look and Angelo & Kris are as professional and as quality as ever. Been getting my haircut here for a while and standards haven’t never dropped. All government guidelines for face masks and cleanliness are well and truly kept to. Great to catch up with them both and will certainly be returning as I always do
Angelo is a very friendly Italian guy with great skills, I have become a regular customer, he knows exactly what I want (both hair and beard) and his prices are quite convenient, I strongly recommend this Barber Shop.
