The owners were unpleasant. I had booked one cottage for my cousin and his friends who were catering my pre-wedding party and another for my groomsmen who had travelled from abroad to come to my wedding. They made the entire party feel unwelcome and doubted our integrity and responsibility. All this in the full knowledge that it was for my wedding and that my parents live locally so we would be fully accountable. We checked out of one of the cottages late (the day after my wedding) for which I apologize. I should point out that the owner rang me multiple times to harass me the day after the wedding about this. The owners also made a racist remark about President Obama to my best man who was visiting from Canada. I do not believe the owners represent the people of Oldcotes or the region - I made this point to the guests who stayed there. I give them one star because you have to to be able to post on Google and because the accommodation provided shelter.
