This hotel is conveniently located lated in the middle of the town. The rooms were very nice and warm. What made it special were the lovely people who ran it. Nothing was too much trouble. Definitely a great place to stay!
My husband & I decided to stay here as the website looked lovely & we noticed they had level 5 food hygiene. Well, that's where the 'good' stopped... When we arrived, we were the only ones there. No one in restaurant (6pm).. The gentleman on desk seemed nice, we told him we were out for the night and would be back around 2am. He gave us the info saying 24/7 access & to use a key provided with the room. The room was far from what we expected. We stayed in room 2. Sink was cracked, dressing table cracked, shower area mouldy and the room was freezing. The door for our room did not close unless physically pushed, and the bathroom door slammed heavy (surely firedoor needs to be the main door, not bathroom door?!) The fire exit door (for 24/7 access) was broken & would not close so immediately, I did not feel safe there. We could also hear people having sex early hours of the morning (3am) and again about 8am, I don't begrudge people having a good time, but you can hear everything!! We had booked for 2 nights, but because we felt uneasy & unsafe, we decided to check out a day early. Oh, also be mindful that right outside the hotel, there is a strip club which we noticed when we checked out! The place seems more of a brothel than a boutique!..
This place is fantastic. Great room, lovely owners and nice and centol. Everything 20 minutes away. Bar, food late night access. Asked for iron and it was there in less than 5 minutes. Water bottle for drinking. Boom it was there. And 11 am check out so no rush. We will definitely be back. Guess what, crucible 20 minutes away. Love it
I've stayed at this hotel several times and have always been very satisfied. This time, we were pleasantly surprised with a free upgrade to a spacious room featuring a large king-size bed, a wonderful comfortable mattress, and a big bathtub. The only downside was that, unlike other rooms I've stayed in, this one didn't have Netflix. However, this wasn't a major issue and didn't affect our overall great experience
My parents were over from Ireland and we wanted to give them their first Afternoon tea experience. We all really enjoyed the food! The venue is lovely and cosy with a nice chilled atmosphere. You can also eat outside on a sunny day if you want. My 4 year old son was with us and they made him his own sandwich and gave him a scone free of charge. We had a lovely chat with the manager/owner at the end. Overall we had a lovely experience!!!
George Wright hotel boutique and bar Fantastic find. The staff here are fantastic. I booked at late notice and found this place via a web search for anything local. I didnt expect much but was really surprised at this gem. Its tucked away and a little tricky to find. The place isnt much from outside but its lovely once you are in. Great restaurant with a great team. Particular thank you to the young blonde girl that served me, she is doing a great job, well done. The reception team member that took my call jumped on the challenge and got me checked in early, again he did a great job. The lady that welcomed me at reception with a coffee while my room was prepared. Lovely. The rooms are great, a little noisey with other guests but thats the guests not the hotel. The rooms have everything you would need including a robe which is fab, tea and coffee facilites in the room, plenty of space, nice fresh bathrooms, the shower is powerful, the hairdryer is powerful, plenty of plug sockets in the right places. Really great find. The staff are absolutely top. Thank you.
The food was very poor. Starter was frozen in the middle, steak for main and this was clearly defrosted steak not fresh, had little taste to it. Service was poor, had to ask for the bill twice and noone asked if we wanted another drink after the first one had ran out! First and last visit.
Beautiful location. Lovely outdoor seating area and the interior is very high end. The downstairs is perfect for large events such as a wedding reception. Great range of drinks. The food is beautiful. Not cheap but also not overly expensive. Staff and service is very good and friendly. Great for lunch or an evening meal. Or just a few drinks.
A really nice atmosphere, We had very good service from Brightly think that was her name .Only just started working there and did extremely well with our party of 8 for a meal .Quite a few people came in for drinks and they was only her ,felt really sorry for her but she did very well in coping. The food was lovely there were 5 different things ordered and all were very good , well cooked and presented .Thank you to the chef and Brightly for making our Daughters 50 birthday so perfect .Well done we will be back .
Disgusting experience. Not able to take food order at table as the till wasn’t working properly. Requested five people to order at till and pay FOOD as you go! Prices same as at Gordon Ramsey’s restaurants. Ran out of the two only tap beer that they sell, on a Saturday afternoon just before 6pm. I would close the business straight away. Less damaging that keeping it open. Shameful! Avoid at any cost! One star is far too much for this place
