We had unpleasant experience at this Tesco Express today due to the behaviour of the security guard. My friend was trying to buy an energy drink and was asked for ID. That’s completely fine and we fully understand and respect the policy. However, instead of asking in a professional manner, the security guard approached us and said, “Where’s your ID, bro?” right away, in a rude and dismissive tone. He then became extremely impatient, constantly rushing my friend while she was trying to look for her ID. When a staff member came over, she politely explained that she couldn’t sell the drink without ID, which we accepted without any issue. Unfortunately, the security guard then turned to us and said, “You look 10 years old, bro.” This was incredibly disrespectful, unprofessional, and unnecessary. The use of slang and the mocking tone were completely inappropriate, especially considering we are grown adults. There is a big difference between doing your job and being rude. This behaviour made us feel uncomfortable and embarrassed in front of other customers. I expect much better from staff and security in a professional retail environment. Btw, both of us 26 years old.

would give 0 if I could. the asian man is astonishingly rude and patronising - questioning me as to whether i have ID as he stacked the shelves whilst i selected a can of cider. I am 21 years old I expect to be asked for ID at the till not for merely having a look. he then came over and took my ID off the female staff member serving me, being extremely condescending. wont be back he needs to work on his customer service skills and stop making women feel uncomfortable. sort it out.

I been in there today and some security guard was rude and helpful and when I was on touch screen waiting for staff to come and sort my energy drink out, the security guard just stand there on his phone texting and didn’t do anything and when I asked for help he then got funny with me and was unhelpful and asked colleagues to do it for me and they did Sometimes you can come across with rude staff so just be aware

I visited the store today am a 51 year old woman who walks with a frame, I only needed cheese so I didn’t get a basket as I walked to the till the security guard told me to go the kiosk not self service which I did, when I paid and started to walk away he stopped me and asked could he see what I had under my bag everyone was looking so I lifted my bag and nothing was there (which I already new) so he said ok you can go I walked out and thought wow, so I walked back in and him and another member of staff were laughing which I am sure was about what had just happened,I asked another member of staff could I speak to the manager and a young man came and he wasn’t a bit interested before I even finished talking he had walked away

For the last 4+ months minimum, this Tesco has been closing 10-15 minutes early, which is infuriating as someone who works night shift. I always arrive at 10 to, as my shift is 11pm, and they're always closed. If you close at 22:45 just change your times? And if you don't, talk to your staff, or hire ones that won't bend the rules.

If I could smuggle these back to the states I would. I love Tesco. I love their sanny’s, jam donuts, sausage pies, pork rolls. Basically so many things I can’t get in the US. I especially love how friendly people are in the North of England. A bit like being in the South of the US. Hearing “Ta Love” never gets old.
