   Dropped in just before closing — chasing clouds and carbs — and found myself in a thrilling game of Guess the Social Norm. The assistant kindly took a break from stacking shelves to practice an impromptu role as social auditor: “What brings you here?” (A question best left to philosophers, perhaps.) Points for spontaneity, but the Tact Maxim and I did part ways around aisle three. Still, a highlight for students of linguistic sociology: today's till-side entertainment included a fascinating live example of face-threatening acts (with bonus commentary). If you're into dissecting how not to make assumptions about shoppers’ motives, I highly recommend a visit. Come for the bargains, stay for the social experiments. Bonus level unlocked if you can spot which customer is rethinking his life choices while holding a discounted cauliflower. 5* for till treatment of elderly 1* queue management

   Good selection of Frozen, as you'd expect, but also good selection of chilled. Handily located in the village. Has a great team of staff helpful & cheerful. Can get your shopping delivered home as well.

   Iceland Formby If anyone thought that Iceland was just for all things cold and/or frozen you'd be wrong! - & pleasantly surprised at the wealth of varieties placed around the spacious shop. This Aladdin's cave holds all ones food needs and desires. Fruit and vegetables/ anything you could think of on the food shopping list is neatly available on isle upon Isle of generous choices. I highly recommend a visit here, so a personal experience can be suitably treasured by the customers.

   I, like many other satisfied customers, have been going to Iceland for many years. Many, like me, may have taken Iceland for granted; after all we expect a variety of quality affordable produce from them. It has become so common for me to shop there even if the "big shop" is else where sometimes. So I have revalued my whole experience of shopping at Iceland to ask myself the question "why do I like going to Iceland in Formby? I realised that the reason I always go there first is because: At the till a friendly member of staff asks me " Do you want it delivered" which is free. The spare time I gain by not having to dash home with frozen produce gives me the time to go to one of the brilliant coffee shops nearby, and meet up with a friend or read a paper. Going to Iceland in Formby is something now I don't take for granted. Indeed, I actually look forward to going there. Thank you Iceland.
