   The property strikes a beautiful balance between historic elegance and contemporary comfort, creating a peaceful and refined atmosphere throughout. The rooms are exceptionally spacious, very clean, and thoughtfully equipped for a short stay. We especially appreciate the coffee and tea station, as well as the super-comfortable bed with crisp, fresh linen, which guarantees a great night’s sleep. The rooms are wonderfully quiet as well. The breakfast is another highlight, with a generous buffet selection and the option to order à la carte. A consistently outstanding stay and one we return to without hesitation.

   Second time staying here, this time to see a concert at City Hall. Check-in was 3pm, and we were early , but a slightly earlier check-in was off the agenda (there appeared to be commercial arrangement that meant the hotel only became a hotel after 3pm). We retreated to the bar...but it was shut. Opens at 3pm. We had a suite on the third floor, which was lovely, but there is no lift which meant dragging bags upstairs and down with my dodgy knee. Perhaps this should be made clearer, as it was a significant problem for me. Just outside our room was a snack station with bikkies, milk in a fridge and two fire extinguishers. There was a sign inviting guests to "Help themselves." I wish I had known this before our visit, as I would have rented a van to hold the fridge and fire extinguishers. Sadly they did not fit in my car boot. Brekkie was lovely, with a good range of veggie and non-veggie options. We called an Uber for our visit to town, but the pick-up point was on the main road, a short walk, but not welcomed by my knee (a problem with Uber rather than the hotel. A proper taxi for the return which whisked us to reception was better but twice the cost. I very nearly gave it 5 stars as it is great value, but if you have mobility isssues, give them a call first to select an appropriate room location, and if you arrive early bring a drink and snacks. And rent a decent sized van for the fridge and fire extinguishers.

   Unfortunately, our experience at Halifax Hall Hotel was disappointing. The parking situation is completely unsafe. Although there is a barrier, it offers no real protection for your car. There are no security cameras, and the parking area is quite far from the hotel itself. The layout is also strange — if you arrive early, you might find a spot along the road leading to the hotel, but if not, you’ll have to park near the student accommodation area, which is poorly lit and feels unsafe. When we mentioned this at reception, the staff admitted that the parking is not secure and that incidents of broken car windows have happened before. I appreciate their honesty, but this is unacceptable for a hotel of this level. The room was also disappointing — especially the toilet, which showed clear signs of previous use. The bathroom itself was spacious, but cleanliness left much to be desired. We decided not to stay overnight because it simply didn’t feel safe. The management should seriously reconsider calling that area a “car park” — it’s misleading and creates a false sense of security for guests.

   This is a really interesting hotel in the university campus. A little difficult to find but worth the effort. The room is very comfortable with all the amenities you would expect. A generous en-suite is a very nice feature. Service is excellent and we dined in the lovely relatively small dining room. The food was excellent and the service impeccable. A drink in the bar was relaxing and comfy. I really recommend this hotel it's really relaxing place to stay.

   A hidden gem. Every member of staff we encountered were so friendly and helpful. The rooms were pristine with snow white bedding and bathrobes. The bathroom was very spacious with a large shower. We had dinner and the meals we had were very large and tasty. Would definitely stay again and would highly recommend it .

   What a fabulous hotel! A superbly reimagined old student hall of residence in some beautifully manicured surroundings. We needed to be close to Endcliffe and this hotel ticked the location box nicely. The room was reasonably sized for a one night stay and the ensuite bathroom was enormous! Importantly it wasn't too hot like most city centre hotels are these days. Bed was super comfy with a firm mattress which we like. Breakfast was fantastic with a good menu choice and cooked and presented exceptionally. Service from all the staff; front of house and waiting on, was also top notch. Everyone was very polite and welcoming. Finally it was nice and quiet with no traffic noise and due to the old building there was absolutely no noise from other guests/doors slamming etc.

   Our bedroom was so pokey that it was like sleeping in a cupboard. For some odd reason the shower started running in the middle of the night and woke us up. As the room was at the back of the building we were woken up again at about 6.30am by deliveries. There wasn't a kettle in the room so we had to go into the corridor to make a hot drink from a loud machine that coughed milk all over the floor. On the plus side the king-size bed was comfy.

   The best wedding venue in Sheffield for sure! Staff are amazing and so professional. The wedding day always runs like clockwork. The food is the best by far. The building has so much history and the gardens are well thought out and beautufully maintained.You'll not go wrong booking your weddiing day here. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!
