Stayed here with friends and the hostel was 10/10. We had a large room with en-suite and it was perfect, bathroom and room very clean, shower really powerful and beds were very comfy. The bakery food in the morning was delicious. We also booked to have a meal in the Italian in the night and it’s the nicest Italian I have ever had. The chef came out to explain the menu and was so friendly and helpful, the meal was very tasty. We will be coming back and staying here very soon.

I had such a great experience at YHA Youlgreave! From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly accommodating, friendly, and genuinely made me feel at home. The entire hostel was spotless — the high standard of cleanliness really stood out and made the stay even more comfortable. The rooms were lovely, with comfortable beds and the added bonus of an ensuite bathroom, which made everything so convenient. Breakfast and meals were delicious, with plenty of options and fantastic coffee to start the day right. If you’re into hiking, cycling or just soaking up some seriously stunning views, YHA Youlgreave is a brilliant place to stay, with secure facilities for storing bikes or hiking gear. Everything about my stay was just perfect — peaceful, welcoming, and well thought out. I couldn’t recommend YHA Youlgreave highly enough and I can’t wait to return!

WOW! Absolutely blown away by our stay at Youlgreave YHA – it’s one of the most charming and thoughtfully presented hostels I’ve ever visited. Housed in a stunning Grade II listed building, formerly the village Co-op, it’s full of character and history. One of my favourite parts is the original gold signwriting still visible in the front fanlights – such a beautiful touch. The attention to detail is impeccable, with subtle nods to its former life throughout, and even the rooms are named after old departments. We stayed in 'Ladies Underwear', a cute four-bed room with two bunk beds and an ensuite shower room. The beds were comfy, and the room was the perfect temperature! Everything was absolutely spotless and beautifully decorated. The views from our room were breathtaking – we had three windows looking out across the village and onto the rolling hills. The staff were absolutely brilliant, warm, and friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We arrived late in the evening with our road bikes, and they kindly sorted us out with access to the secure cycle store with no fuss at all. And let’s not forget about the on-site bakery with mini book store and library, Fountain View Bakery! You can smell the fresh bread and cakes as you head down for breakfast! The food was amazing, with fantastic coffee to set us up for the day. The location couldn’t be better - ideal for walking, with incredible roads for cycling right on your doorstep. I honestly can’t recommend this place enough, it's 10/10! Huge thanks to Colin and the team – we’ll definitely be back soon!

Such a great hostel ran by Colin, would highly recommend to anyone wanting to stay away for personal trips as well as business retreats. I'll defiantly be back for both! On this account I'd stayed with my colleagues from work, for a work retreat and from start to finish the hospitality that we received from Colin and the team was 100% and beyond! We were all very grateful and know we'll be back again next year. 15 of us stayed at the hostel, we practically had the rooms to ourselves which was great, all very modern and recently renovated. In the heart of the Peak District a short walk from many trails and a river. It's a bonus that Fountain View Bakery is part of the hostel where we had all our meals which was brilliant, lovely meals provided on all accounts, catering for all our dietary requirements. Thank you to Matthew and the team for looking after us with our food options. The pizzas were 10/10! Colin and Matthew you've been absolutely stars and we look forward to staying with you again soon! I would highly recommend! Everything was 10/10!

It's a yhs so expect a youth hostel. The building is fun. Nice kitchen. Rooms clean. Location brilliant. And a bakery sets up on Saturday morning for fresh baked pastries. Cakes and coffee. Youlgrieve has nice walks and on a hot day you can have mini swim in the river.

This place is awesome. Used to be a co-op. Large well appointed kitchen. Inviting living spaces. Clean private room with everything you expect. Great village. Very helpful and friendly staff who gave us some cracking advice about how to enjoy the peaks.

This is a quaint hostel with a good size self catering kitchen. The only minor issue is the lack of parking, but I had no trouble finding a place to park on the main Street. Plus there is a car park nearby. There are 3 pubs in this small village and a convenience shop right near by including a post office, so you won't have trouble stocking up on food or treating yourself to a meal out

Stayed here with a group hiring the whole hostel. It's a charming historic building, a former Co-operative Society store and offices and the names of the rooms reflect this rather charmingly. The setting is lovely and the walking in the area is stunning. Note: the stairs are quite steep.

Lovely little family friendly hostel in the heart of a picturesque village surrounded by fantastic landscapes. The rooms are spartan but very clean and the kitchen facilities are first class. The manger made us feel at home and was friendly and very helpful . Our kids loved it and we would definitely come again.
