Was really impressed with the room. So much thought has gone into the little details like the dog walking areas, BBQ area, games room and welcome packs etc. It's very clear that Dan and Fay take great pride in the cottages. Would definitely recommend.
Having a lovely few days at Bolehill Farm. Its quiet and has a great games room for children / teenagers. The dogs love the dog fields where they can run off their leads. The location is a few minutes drive from Bakewell and you're ideally located for all the local places to visit
Booked for my parents and they said that it was the best place they'd ever stayed. Comfortable, welcoming, everything there you could want for a self-catering holiday. Also, very dog friendly, 2 enclosed fields for morning walks. Good for couples and families. There were even lists of dog friendly walks (on and off lead), length of walk and difficulty, distance to get there. Even dog friendly restaurants. Ideally situated for so many places to visit.
This old Farmstead has been turned into multiple cottage/apartment areas by the owners. They have done a beautiful job. I stayed in Dove cottage and was impressed with how well appointed and thoughtfully designed this space was. The owners, Dan & Fay, pay careful attention to detail and provide an outstanding binder of welcome information in each cottage. The includes information about the cottage, amenities of the overall property, things to do in the area for shopping, eating, pubs, and things to do with children. There is even a separate binder for hiking and biking routes in the area which you can access from the cottages area. I love that my cottage had a full kitchen, full bathroom, living room and bedroom. It was absolutely perfect! There is even a leisure room on the property, which is open to all guests. This area includes a dining area for large groups, full kitchen, laundry area, and a room with shelves of boardgames and DVD movies. Bolehill Farm Cottages is a couple miles outside of Bakewell, so you would either need a car to get around, or you can utilize local taxi or Uber services to get in and out of town. During good weather, there are some bicycle routes into town, but I believe the hike into town would take at least 45 minutes to an hour, if not longer. The bus system is fantastic, with buses, leaving throughout of the day to get you to surrounding areas/towns. The visitor/tourist information center in Bakewell is a great resource to help you understand the bus schedules. Just a couple pounds to get to most places nearby. Rent a car so that you can get around, or budget money for Uber and taxi rides. A one-way ride into town for one person is about 8 pounds, and even more during peak times of the day, costing up to three times that.
Spent an amazing weekend in the company of some awesome people. We stayed at Bolehill cottages and I couldn't fault the accommodation or the location. In the middle of the most beautiful rolling hills of the peak district we had the whole site to ourselves which was great for privacy. Beautiful cottages with seating area, dining areas and fully ready cottages made our stay so easy. With the dining/activities hall, games room and huge garden area it was perfect for our retreat. Best of all the homemade welcome brownies are the best I've ever had!!! Great place if you are travelling in a group or if you are going on your own. Many different options available!!
What an amazing time we had at bolehill. Perfect for a quiet couple getaway or a family/friend holiday. Perfect location. Cottages are immaculate with all mod cons. Cosy and views are amazing. The personal touches are beautiful. The homemade brownies are incredible. I highly recommend staying at bolehill. Its beautiful and perfect.
We have visited Bolehill Farm many times over the years as we have family living in the area. This was our first time stay with Dan and Fay as the owners and we couldn't have been made to feel more welcome. All of the touches added are to a high standard, everything has been thought out to the finest detail. From the beautiful flowers in the courtyard, the addition of private gated areas to each cottage and the well thought out bbq area and secure dog paddocks it is all immaculately executed. The interiors of the cottages have been modernised but still remain sympathetic to the country style. Everything is thought out inside the cottage to provide comfort and requirements for visitors, and the welcoming treat tray was a joy to behold on entering our cottage. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bolehill Farm in May 2022, this was our first break away with our 4 month old baby. We were made to feel extremely welcome… even finding a homemade lemon cake in our cottage just for us!! Bolehill is a great location, super relaxing atmosphere with self check in and out available. Easy parking close to the cottages.
