Fantastic location in beautiful rolling hills overlooking Penistone. Staff are always on point. Polite, knowledgeable and quick. Married here last year and returned for our anniversary and had a lovely experience both times. Would definitely recommend βΊοΈ

My husband and I called in for Sunday Carvery today in the Barn. Beautiful surroundings and very attentive staff. The service was quick and professional. I recognised the lady who served on our table but didnβt know her name, she was very pleasant. A big shout out to Josh the Manager, who always goes out of his way to ensure I have the glass I like and does everything in his power to make our visit enjoyable, Louis the Chef for the lovely food especially the Cauliflower Cheese, which was delicious today. Helen who is also very helpful although only saw her from a distance today and the lady who normally does the weddings, sorry I canβt quite remember her name, is it Sandra? Anyhow, the food was lovely, the service was exceptional and we will look forward to a return visit in a couple of weeks. Often we pop up mid week and I often hold events here too , again excellent food and service . Would most definitely recommend. Have had Christmas Dinner here twice before and both times it was lovely. Thank you for the sweetcorn Josh , you made an old man very happy . Caroline x

Myself and my partner had lunch at Cubley Hall on the 19th of September 2025. We didn't have a reservation but there was plenty of room and we were quickly shown in to the restaurant. Our drinks followed promptly and we both chose to eat from the light bites menu. I chose pie of the day, beef and ale and my partner chose chilli con carne. The portions were a very decent size as you can see from the photo included. Service was attentive but not intrusive. There are wonderful views from the restaurant across the fields and band stand in the grounds. Lots of parking space, disabled access and a specials menu which we were told change regularly. The 2 light bite meals and 2 drinks came in under Β£40. We will certainly go again and look forward to the Sunday carvery starting in October. All in all a very good lunch. Thank you Cubley Hall

Just stayed at the Cubley Hall Hotel overnight whilst biking across the Trans Pennine Way. Our group of three arrived, tired & soaked wet through - the hotel staff couldn't have been more accommodating. Bikes were stored securely, restaurant stayed open a little later due to our arrival time and John, (I think that was his name) was great in sorting the drying of clothes and serving us drinks He's a credit to the Hotel - Thank you so much

A huge thank you to Sandra and all the staff at Cubley Hall for making my daughter's wedding so special. This is a team that really knows how to deliver a top notch service. Nothing was too much trouble. Staff are so friendly and worked really hard to ensure a fabulous experience that was enjoyed by the whole wedding party. The views from my room were absolutely stunning. I would definitely recommend Cubley Hall as a wedding venue, they are so professional. Thank you for an amazing day!

The bar and restaurant are fairly spacious. The bar menu is typical of pub food so limited gluten free choices. Service was reasonably prompt and accurate. Cubley Hall is at moderately high altitude so you may need to take account of this in bad weather. There are two car parks

We got married here in 2016 so it holds significance for us. Over the last 2 years its had its ups and downs in terms of service, but I am pleased to say last few visits recently have shown its back to its former glory. The staff seem more regular, the same faces who are happy to help and enthusiastic and Helen behind the bar every time we have been seems to have helped. She is really experienced and always makes sure everything is in order. The food has also been great. A pretty simple classic main menu with lots of options and some nice specials on offer. They have also started having events on in the barn which I have said for years would be perfect, we hope to get to one soon. Really happy the place is back to its former self. Covid hit these establishments hard its great to see Cubley Hall thriving again.

Great food and a charming place to eat or drink, with different areas to sit in around the bar or conservatory area. Nice and warm inside, good food portions and loads of parking. I imagine the place is great for wedding receptions and large events in summer, although it was too misty to enjoy the views or outside today.

31st October- 2nd November Had a wonderful 2 night stay at Cubley Hall. On arrival we were checked in by a very polite lad. We booked a table and had the best burger stack ever, it was truly amazing and tasted fantastic. Our room was comfortable and had tea and coffee making facilities in it. Great views over the open countryside through our window. Breakfast on day 1 - had the full English and it was cooked to perfection, excellent 22 yr old chef cooked it that morning. Stayed for evening meal on the second night and we both had a pasta dish and once again the standards of food were very high, a most enjoyable experience. Thank you Cubley Hall and staff for a wonderful stay. Highly recommended.
