Had an absolutely incredible stay here with a school group. The staff were friendly, the facilities were decent and the surroundings are amazing. Large grounds to explore, and plenty of good walks nearby, including the Monsal Trail. Despite some issues with the heating (3rd party issue), Romia, Jeannie and Ross were incredibly helpful, professional and supportive. They kept us updated with the progress in resolving the issue, went out of their way to help mitigate it with extra duvets and even going to nearby hostels to get heaters for each room. I can't thank them enough for the lengths they went to to make us comfortable, and it was resolved by lunch the next day.

I am part way through a week at YHA Ravenstor this September and it has been a really good stay so far. The hostel has a clothes drying room, a games room, a lounge and a self catering kitchen. There is also a buffet breakfast available with the option of a full English or continental. I had the continental which included toast with jam, cereals, croissants, pain au chocolat, fruit and apple juice. The building has a lot of character, the staff are welcoming and the location is perfect for walking straight from the door. I have already booked to return in October. – Olly

Beautiful location. We just left today and had a lovely time. The staff are very friendly, the atmosphere convivial and the full English breakfast a lovely treat in the morning. Good for families: our children played with other children throughout our stay. Stunning walks around.

Great place to stay. The staff were really helpful, friendly and seemed to genuinely enjoy their job. We turned up a group of 5 blokes on motorbikes and were made to feel welcome. Very clean rooms and fantastic facilities. Always loads of hot water and the breakfast was great.

Excellent youth hostel with its own grounds to play in, very close to Millersdale and with a private footpath down to the River Wye. At Millersdale you can pay an instructor to let you abseil safely off a viaduct (book in advance)

We went as a large group, wet and muddy . The rooms were warm , the food was good, the bar was open. The drying room helped. Staff were friendly , would like to go again

Stayed with 3 friends in a room with 2 bunk beds. Clean and tidy with a sink in the room. Shared toilets and showers with other rooms. Only one pair of electrical sockets in the room meant juggling devices for recharging. Staff very friendly and informative. Breakfast selection was fabulous - cereals, toast, pastries, freshly cooked breakfast selection, tea, coffee and fruit juices.

Lovely place. Nothing posh, but it is a hostel. Quiet and clean. Room had beds only, a little table would be nice. Other then that, all good

I just loved it here. This was our first stay with the YHA but it definitely won't be our last. There was a friendly welcome from the staff when we arrived and it has a really homely feel about it. Our room was just what we needed, the beds were so comfy and although the shower and toilets were shared we never waited to use either. We also had a very enjoyable breakfast the following morning. Overall a great experience. Can't wait to return.
