I love Home Bargains as a store full stop. The staff who work there are great, always completely willing to help out whenever you need a hand, such as to get a product off the top shelf that you can't reach. At one point I was in this store back during the lock down with my mum, and one of the male cashiers was especially good with us both. He allowed us to move 2 packs of loo roll we were getting to by the side of the till, so that more products could come through, meaning packing them was easier for us. He also at one point got up from his seat, opened up the next cashier till and pulled the cashier chair out, so that my mum could sit down. This was a real help to her, because her back was hurting, because she has fibromyalgia. It also helped me a lot, since I had difficulty understanding the social distancing at the time, because I'm on the autistic spectrum. I later sent an e-mail passing on a message of thanks, and I received one back, thanking me for the message, and explaining that staff receive bonuses for outstanding customer care (which in my mind, he 100% fully deserved). Also, the range of products on sale are both fantastic, and at a great price too, both those sold year round e.g. washing up liquid, and seasonal stuff, such as special chocolates for valentine's day, Christmas and Easter. There are 2 issues with this branch though. Since the entrance is right in the middle of the block in the road, access can be difficult. (Since the branch is literally just around the corner from the GP surgery that my family goes to, I usually only go there after I've either had a medical appointment, or after I've needed to put a prescription request though.) Whenever my mum and I go in she always has to park a little way away, and then we walk up. Also, like with any other branch of Home Bargains, it's one of the worst shops to go into when you only need a few bits and pieces, and you then end up coming out with a lot more due to the great deals. If I had a million pounds every day of my life to spend however I wanted, I would still shop here.

I visited today Allerton rd branch....so as to pick up several items. I did not use a basket thinking I would not need it. However, a staff member , although he was busy, noticed the juggle I was doing ,trying to hold onto several items when he immediately, kindly and politely asked if he could assist by way of getting me a basket. It was a small gesture with a big meaning. Thank you !

Decent size for a suburb with lots of products; not as busy as the city centre shops. Well laid out, plenty of room for pushchairs etc and friendly helpful staff.

I absolutely love this shop but I can never just buy what I went in there for. Staff are so so helpful in this store. I even had one young bloke help me out to my car with a big sack of dog biscuits a couple of months ago, that to me was the nicest thing anyone could have done as I had quite a lot of bags. Disabled access into the store makes it so easy to get in and the aisles are widely spread out so wheelchair users have plenty of room. Sometimes you can even park right outside if there is space too but please make sure to park within the permitted parking area as the store is close to a pedestrian crossing and the last thing you want to be doing is causing an obstruction by parking on the zig zag lines and getting a parking ticket. If you can't park outside, there are plenty of side roads to park in nearby.

Staff at the Allerton Road store are the most friendly and professional sales assistants I have ever met. They are a good team and always go the extra mile. Impossible organisation to get a job with. Pity HR aren't as good as the team in this particular shop!
