The Barnsley Cineworld IMAX screening room isn't big enough (especially in comparison top Sheffield's far larger & comfortable alternative) to accommodate the epic sound levels, which makes the experience uncomfortable & at times nauseous. You even have to sit on the very back row in order to avoid the dreaded 'fishbowl' view. Add to that there were no team members present to take my ticket on arrival & a member of staff near pounced on me for 'talking during the movie' - when no one made any complaints over my laughter or reactions to the actual film .... among 15 viewers scattered among 300+ empty seats with sound that would drown out a riot! I won't revisit this venue any time soon.

Attended for a Screen X showing - not once (apart from during commercials) did the Screen X work and the picture was all out of focus (eg subtitles cut off due to being an incorrect display). Contacted Cineworld, response was dismissive and also incorrect, took no responsibility whatsoever and tried to blame the production/artist - however other Screen X's had no issues with this showing displaying properly from checking fan groups, including other Cineworld locations. Terrible customer experience for our first trip to Cineworld - avoid.

Absolutely love this Cineworld! The 4DX experience is incredible, totally immersive and worth every penny. The seats move with the action, the effects make you feel part of the movie, and it takes watching films to another level. Always a great time here.

Went to see the downton abbey film. Halfway through the film started freezing repeatedly. After reporting the issue once the issue persisted. When reporting for a second time the staff behind the counter had a aggressive and unhelpful attitude towards my spouse. Eventually the projector got rebooted and the issue was solved but never got an apology or any recompense for the disruption or poor staff attitude. Never coming back to this cineworld. Staff at Sheffield centertainment are much better.

Take my kids 6 & 13 years old to cinema for a Barbie moves yesterday, waiting for some interesting moves, cinema in Barnsley absolutely nice, clean with helpful stuff, but moves was absolutely feministing, not really for kids, more for ladys with out motivation and trust in theirs self. Absolutely disappointed with it. But cinema is cool. As well need to say befor any moves starts is 30- 40 min is advertising, thats waist my time. If my review is helpful to you please give a like. Thanks. As well need to say what lift not works to go up,you have to walk, if you take some one with willchar its a problem to get up.

I have never been so cold sitting in a cinema. I had my big winter coat and gloves on whilst watching the movie. This did mean I couldn't enjoy the film comfortably. We are in January and it's cold enough outside so really need to consider putting some heating on. I was in screen 5.

Just been to our new Cineworld in Barnsley for the first time in fact since the pandemic started .We have waited for years to get a modern cinema in Barnsley and we have finally got one . We went to watch Violent Night. The cinema is very up to date with a good choice of films, the staff are very friendly the seat's are very comfortable yes I did say very comfortable it's nice and warm what more could you want. Come on Barnsley people support your new modern comfortable cinema we have waited long enough let's not loose it . I have no ties to Cineworld just a customer who's glad he doesn't have to travel to Sheffield anymore. Kevin

Excellent cinema. The latest technology, many formats to watch a film in, friendly and helpful staff, and incredibly comfy seats with lots of legroom. My only complaint is the ticket prices, it generally costs £9.99 for a regular 2D screening. But if you go between Mon-Thurs before 5pm, it’ll only cost £5.99.

Visited on Saturday for the first time and I was extremely impressed by the quality of staff. The manager had to come over to sort a problem at the till for us and he was so helpful and even got a lovely lady to show us to our seats and show me where I could park my mobility scooter. We had a fantastic time. I will return again and can’t recommend highly enough.
