*Damaged wedding ring, lied to us and destroyed receipts to hide evidence.* My fiancée and I visited the Manchester Arndale branch and were helped by a salesperson called Chris. With his help, we each found a ring we liked. My fiancée’s ring fit perfectly, but mine was too large. Chris mentioned that I could “definitely go down a size,” though another colleague suggested the size was fine, saying a ring shouldn’t feel too tight. Chris also explained that my ring couldn’t be resized because of its bevelled edge — a new one would have to be ordered instead. He offered a discount if we bought both rings that day and said I could take mine home to double-check the fit. He assured us several times that ordering the correct size later wouldn’t be a problem. Based on that, we went ahead with the purchase. After trying the ring at home, it was clear that it was far too big. Over the next few months, we had to visit the store four more times, and each time we were given different information by different staff members. On one visit, we were told that sizing was up to us and that special orders cost the store money. Using the store’s own measuring guide, we decided that two sizes smaller would be right. The service on that visit was quite dismissive. When the replacement arrived, it turned out to be too tight. The manager condescendingly spoke down to me in the middle of the shop and said the guide was “just a guide” and that ordering again would cost them more money. I explained calmly that the last visit I received no professional guidance and was simply handed a measuring guide to make a decision on the correct size. Despite the fact that Chris had said from the start that ordering the correct size would be no issue and they would help us get this. When the next ring came, it fit perfectly but we immediately noticed it looked different. When we asked about this, Chris said it hadn’t been resized, even though he’d originally told us resizing this style would damage the bevelled edge. After comparing photos at home, it was clear that the ring had been resized and damaged. We contacted head office, who referred us back to the store. During that visit, staff took both the ring and our receipts, saying they’d order a new one. When we realised the receipts were missing and went back to ask, the manager told us they had been destroyed. The ring was resized without our consent despite us being told that resizing would damage the ring and that our receipts were destroyed again without our consent so we no longer had evidence of them resizing the ring. Despite several visits, time spent, and clear inconvenience, we haven’t received an apology or any form of reimbursement from the store or head office. Two morals to this story: 1. Don’t pay a salesperson until you’re sure the product is right, even if a “today only” discount is offered. 2. Don't buy your jewellery from Chisholm Hunter. Images attached show how the damaged ring does not have the sharp bevelled edge and instead is smooth due to the ring being resized without our consent.

Very unprofessional. First watch I picked up was scratched which came packed in a nice leather pouch. I exchanged the damaged watch for a new one which DID NOT come with a pouch for some reason. When I questioned it they said 'that's just how the watches arrive sometimes' I can't understand the inconsistency. Having paid almost £1,500 for a watch, why are the staff unfamiliar with the product and how it arrives. I don't feel valued as a customer, dare I say it... I've been fobbed off! I've sat on it for a day and definitely will be raising this with the head office. Having said that the staff member I dealt with in store was nice enough, unfortunately I don't think they know what's going on with product specifics. Shame as I've looking forward to this watch for years and It's left a very sour taste.

Came here to buy my first proper watch and went in naively thinking a Hugo Boss or Michael Kors would be perfect for longevity and class. I was thoroughly looked after and taught by Sherie. There was no pressure like there sometimes is in a sales situation, she was very kind and easy to talk with. I went in with what i thought was a fussy mindset of what i wanted, thinking I’d never find it! I went in with one idea of what I wanted and came out with something completely different which I love! It was my first time buying a higher end watch and the staff were great, they had no issue in showing me the ropes, they were friendly and approachable.
