I had the misfortune of needing to purchase an electric planer from b and q New Malden this morning. I needed some help and advise. There was an elderly staff member inches tool area. Said good morning to him. He completely and utterly ignored me. I asked if he worked in that area. He barked at me βwhat do you want!?β I showed him the unit I was interested in and asked if it came with the battery. Again he barked at meβ how am I to know when do t k ow what you want?β And was pointing to the unit. Iβve never had such shocking treatment. There are many staff members working but none want to help customers. No managers around to monitor the performance of staff members. Store was quiet. I wonβt be back. Iβll rather order online from other retailers. Disgusting!

Not even worth 1 star. Do not buy anything from this store. If you want your delivery on time or even with 1 or two days delay do not order from this place. They are not going to deliver your items on the day they give you maybe a week later or even more. I had the most terrible experience in my entire life. Even when they delivered items they were so many missing, calling them was a night mare as they never pick up phone! Even other branches call them nightmares! I even raise a complaint and sent an email 3 times to the manager directly but even the manager didnβt reply back to my email. So if you think the manger is helpful unfortunately not! There is nobody to hear you if anything goes wrong. Do not order anything from this. Store if time and money and costumer service is important for you.

EDIT: Since the original post, the delivery has not been picked for a THIRD time. Support unable to get a hold of the New Malden store. Iβve spent an hour on hold across 4 calls without getting through to a human. The social media team have not had any more success. An absolute clown show all round - 3 failed deliveries, not so much as an acknowledgement from the store for over 2 days now. ββ In store visits have been fine in the past. Online orders fulfilled by the store? Not so much. New Malden store has twice failed to deliver my order in my pre booked slot. No follow up contact, no tracking, Iβve had to call them up to sort this out each time. Itβs a fairly expensive delivery of power tools, not something of token value. The store didnβt pick up the phone to the support centre for 2 out of 3 calls, and the support centre seemed powerless to do anything other than forward calls. This is already 3 more calls than Iβve had to make to anybody about online order deliveries in the last year. Then for booking a redelivery, no attempt to expedite or squeeze in quickly - Saturday delivery rebooked to the following Wednesday. Go in store to this one if youβre in the area, or one better - just spend your money at a place that values your time as well as your money.

I just want to shout out Katrina at the New Malden B&Q β she went above and beyond helping us find sugar soap, a sponge, and all the essential bits for painting. She didnβt just glance at the shelves β she dug around, checked online, even used her phone to confirm stock. Honest to say, sheβs a real asset to B&Q. You donβt see dedication like that every day.

Certainly one of the largest B&Q stores I've ever visited. You can find everything for the home, with a range of prices and quality. Obviously, a standardized quality, but with a good price-quality ratio. The staff was knowledgeable with me, and it's definitely a store worth visitingβyou'll hardly leave empty-handed. The outdoor gardening section is well-stocked. The parking has some issues that need to be resolved.

Product was to expectation but service was poor, had to hang around until a member of staff felt that they ought to man the collection desk and when they finally did so tried their best to make u feel they were doing u the customer a favour. In the mean time other members of staff especially at electrical point directly opposite did their best to pretend they were busy. One In particular gave a customer a hard time when they tried to return a wet dry vacuum that was clearly unused and in original packaging suggestiing customer was wrong when in fact the member of staff was pretty clueless and did his best to prove it.

We need some wood cut, and the 2 nearest B&Q stores have the saw mill broken. I thought I'd call ahead to New Malden and find out, but their recorded message states 'due to Covid, we are not answering calls' to protect staff', and then it cuts you off. I'm sorry what? Its 2023, and how does not answering calls protect staff?! Very frustrating

I went late on a Monday night, plenty of staff on hand and they found me the items I was looking for (not in the aisle stated on the website). Wish they'd turn the lights off at night though, it seems completely lit up even when it's shut. Even if they turned half off...seems a no brainer in the current climate.

No directions for HGV deliveries. Drive past the store, past the self storage building, turn left into the Shannon commercial centre, then take the 2nd left.

After asking a questing about paint mixing at the desk, and getting a one word answer, the young assistant walked of and left us standing there mid conversation. After poor service and rudeness like this my wife suggested we leave and go to Brewer's Decorating in Martin Way, a short drive away. Here we received personal and attentive and knowledgeable service which helped us choose which paints we required. That's Β£111 sale that B&Q won't see on this occasion and they'll never see our custom again now we've seen the benefits of choosing experts in local retail.
