I’ve had an appalling experience with this Wickes store and I feel genuinely compelled to warn others. I purchased an ex-display warming drawer and was told to wait until it was ready. I called them a couple of times and each time they promised it would be honoured soon. Then, out of nowhere, they suddenly claimed it was ready for collection in 10 days, just 2 days before I was due to leave the UK for a trip. I even explained clearly that I could come the very next day, my last day in the country, but they refused to cooperate. The manager was fully aware of my situation and it was the manager’s decision not to let me collect the item before my trip. Instead, I was reassured that the item would be held for me until I returned. After coming back, and after spending money and time on several wasted trips, I arrived at the store expecting to finally collect the item I had already paid for. Only then did they casually tell me that the warming drawer was broken. They never informed me beforehand, never offered a refund, and never even hinted that something was wrong. I only discovered this after turning up again, hopeful that I would finally receive what I had paid for. This situation has cost me both time and money, on top of all the effort I put in to follow their instructions and cooperate at every stage. The excuse was beyond unbelievable. This is a simple warming drawer with two screws holding it in place, yet they expect customers to believe it broke while being taken out, even though far more complex items such as built-in fridges, ovens and sinks are removed and sold every day without any issue. The whole situation felt evasive and insincere and it seemed far more likely that they simply sold the item to someone else, while promising to hold it for me and refusing to let me collect it beforehand, then made up a story to cover it. Unfortunately, as I am Asian, I can only think this is discriminatory. They provided no proof at all, no explanation, no apology and no sense of responsibility for the inconvenience and cost they caused me. The way this was handled was not only unprofessional, it was disrespectful and completely unacceptable. I will be taking this further with Trading Standards and Consumer Protection via Citizens Advice and making an official complaint, as this level of negligence and dishonesty should not be allowed to continue. I strongly warn anyone considering buying from this store, whether for used or new items. Their promises mean nothing. This was one of the most unreliable and shamefully handled retail experiences I have ever had.

I had an excellent experience with the Wickes Rosh Operations Manager. He was very helpful, polite, and took the time to explain everything in detail. A very professional person to deal with, which made the whole process smooth and straightforward. Highly recommended.

I would like to thank Laura, Sydney and the Wickes team for help with a project recently. I am Headteacher at a local Primary School and had contacted Wickes for support with a project. The staff I dealt with could not have been more friendly, supportive and generous with their time. They were able to support us with quality resources at short notice and ensured that our project had a professional finish. See pictures for the before, during and after, including border edging from Wickes.

After having Rupert call me who told me they hadn't completed my kitchen design as they had been on holiday and then rudely told me I would be better off going to B&Q for a quote and that it was not worth me coming in on Saturday to discuss my options. They then sent me a text message a 4 year old could have sent about another customer, which a heads up is a MAJOR data breach. Maybe have a look at how you speak to customers given that you work in sales and work on commission. As Rupert put it don't waste your time and go to B&Q

Owned by Travis Perkins who are intent to maximise profits at the expense of decent wages, employment contracts and working conditions. Same as everyone else then. OK, rant over. They had what I needed. Decent parking and access. Nobody policing the disabled bays for errant BMW and Mercedes drivers (there were both).

If thinking of buying something take care. I bought a kitchen for £12000 18 months ago. The fitter did not seal the floor tiles to the cabinets and as a result i now have water damage to one of my cupboards caused simply by cleaning my floor. Customer service is a joke! They asked me to contact their fitter, asked me to measure up the cupboard and since then i haven't hesrd from them. Oh sorry except for them to send me an email asking how they had done!
