   This is what a real hardware store is. Haven’t found one like this in years. Owner/staff know their products and have actual hands on knowledge. From niche tools to consumables, it’s a winner. Not like your tool station or Screwfix that’s all done digitally on a iPad and when you ask for advice on a basic product you get a blank look and told to google it. Thanks, I’ll be back.

   Belton and Slade is a very well stocked store! The staff are very knowledgable and are worth consulting about DIY. They stock some 'one offs' such as bracketry to repair/fix Ikea and similar 'carcasses'. This has recently saved my a fortune. For a few pounds I repaired units which a 'specialist' would have charged 'like an angry bull'!! I took along some photos of the damage and Keith patiently explained what and how I could return to as good as new! They also are good at key cutting!

   This is a great store with expert staff and great products. Definitely a cut above your average hardware store. I had searched numerous other hardware stores in south London for replacement nuts and bolts with quite specific thread pitch requirements for a home DIY project. Other stores had generic poor quality hardware with only a single thread pitch. The staff at Belton and Slade identified the correct specification for the hardware and had some in stock. They also had a wide range of tools and after discussing my project were able to sell me the right tools that made the job a lot easier. I only wish there were more hardware stores like this!
