Disappointed is a understatement… me and my 3 friends came here as we fancied a roast and have heard that this was a nice place and does nice food but I don’t think I’ve had a worse experience in a restaurant in my life, first of all it took about 40 minutes for our food to arrive has to ask 2 times how long it would be and when it did eventually arrive the cauliflower cheese was burnt, the seasonal vegetables where undercooked and rock solid and and the chicken was raw on not just my plate but every single one of our plates, I am beyond appalled by the mangers tone saying that it was not possible for the food to be raw when it clearly was very visibly raw and completely put us off our food that we didn’t even end up eating most of, I think it’s a disgusting that they are serving food like this and should be utterly ashamed of themselves especially now that me and my friends feel unwell and have been up and down being sick for most of the night. Secondly I was asked if I wanted another drink and the waitress walked off when taking the drink order so I was unable to get another drink and I think that’s is rather rude, as someone who works in hospitality I would never normally complain but I felt completely disregarded and forgotten about and can tell by the standard of food that they clearly forgot about us and rushed it out because they did so… I’ve basically paid to get food poisoning. When trying to rectify with the manager she wouldn’t really listen and made me and my friends feel disregarded and stupid for saying that the chicken was raw I wouldn’t reccomend this restaurant to anyone unless they want to be up and down from the loo spewing from both ends

We were served by Aimee a few weeks ago and she was so lovely. Really attentive and polite. I popped back in today for a coffee to go and Aimee remembered me and again was lovely. Was served today by Nadine who was also lovely and made a lovely coffee.

Came to the beautiful Lakeside restaurant on Easter Sunday Lunch we were a group of 8 adults 3 children. We had the most relaxing enjoyable time here we were well looked after by Wendy and her amazing serving staff . The food was delicious and hot well presented and lashings of their fab gravy. The table we were dotted at what a perfect view of the lakeside marina and the sun was shining...perfect Easter Sunday. Thankyou to Wendy and her amazing staff for looking after us. We will definitely be back x

A real shame. Nice venue and lovely setting but terrible service and low quality food. Service was very slow with no knives/forks given and missing items on the order. All very disorganised. The food was very poor. Will only have drinks in future.

We stopped by for a cup of tea. The manager was friendly and took us to our table and said someone would be over to take our order. It then took twelve minutes for someone to come over even though there was plenty of staff. As there were no menus on the tables we ordered two teas, a pot of tea arrived with one tea bag in it which made for extremely weak cups of tea. When I went to pay, the girl on the till who looked rather miserable told me it was £5 which I thought was way overpriced, and with lack of service I paid but did not leave a tip, the girl now looked fairly angry as she passed me my change, maybe because I didn't tip? But I really didn't feel I should with the service we received and the weak tea we were served.

The last two times we have been, they have refused to give us a drinks menu even though they have always had one. Then the drinks were more expensive than the last time. I don't understand why they can't display their drinks prices. The service is slow and inconsistent. They need more training, especially in how to serve customers.

Cafe is a perfect stop off for a regular beach and park dog walker. It opens early including Mon/Tue when everywhere else locally seems to be closed in winter. Staff are genuinely welcoming and the setting is spacious, clean and attractive. Excellent coffee and cake, served quickly and very reasonably priced. My border collie is always welcomed and fussed over - dogs are well catered for in the cafe area - 5 stars, cheers.
