I’ve been using this Tesco Express for the last few years, and the overall customer service has consistently been disappointing. The staff often come across as unfriendly, giving cold or dismissive looks, and there’s very little communication or basic courtesy. Asking for help can be difficult because many employees dont speak good english and struggle to communicate clearly, which makes simple enquiries unnecessarily stressful. Another ongoing issue is the constant shelf-stacking throughout all hours of the day. Large cages are often left blocking aisles or directly in front of the products customers are trying to reach. On several occasions, staff have pushed cages in front of me and then walked off, leaving the shelf completely blocked. They’ve also stopped using the hand-held Clubcard scanners at the tills, and now customers are expected to lean over the counter to scan their own Clubcards on the fixed barcode scanner. I know the scanners still function because I’ve seen certain staff use them — it just comes across as laziness and lack of care for customers. Something that concerns me even more is the behaviour of some employees with their Bluetooth earpieces. It’s very obvious at times that certain staff speak about customers while working, and the overall atmosphere can feel unprofessional and uncomfortable. There have been comments in past reviews about inappropriate behaviour, and from my experiences, I can understand why. This store needs serious attention from management — better training, better customer service standards, and more respect shown to the people who shop here.

On Sunday, November 16th, at 7:56 pm, I stopped by Tesco to pick up some groceries. I noticed a Sri Lankan gentleman working at the checkout who was coughing in front of the groceries and fruits. It was a bit concerning since cleanliness and hygiene are really important. Of course, everyone coughs sometimes, but it would be reassuring if he had washed his hands before helping the next customer. I hope Tesco can reinforce good hygiene practices to keep both staff and shoppers safe. This is just a gentle reminder, as this was the second time I noticed the same person in this situation.

Fantastic team at this Tesco! Efficient, smart, and always keeping the store well-stocked. It’s a pleasure shopping here. Bonus: They also handle Evri parcel collections—super convenient!

The customer service in this branch is appalling. Some shop assistance can’t even speak a good level of English and are unable to answer questions and queries for customers. Even when you ask for help you are ignored or given a dirty look and it’s as if they can’t be bothered. For some reason this branch will only have a single person working on the till, this creates long queues and other employees are not willing to help. I also noticed while paying for some products the other day, an employee didn’t even acknowledge me, refused eye contact and just threw my shopping into a bag, the attitude was quite disgusting. The supermarket seems to re stock the shelves during the most busiest times and bombard or barge past and expect you to move out the way. I’ve had to move cages and trolleys out of the way of products so I can put them in my basket as they are hidden from view most of the time. I know for a fact the employees make fun of customers in a foreign language through their Bluetooth ear devices and will not speak English unless they have to. The racism in this Tesco is outrageous. It’s by far the worst Tesco I’ve ever shopped in, I try to avoid at all costs. The only nice and happy employee is the security guard, he’s always so nice and helping.

Worst tesco I been , one cashier and also using two tills , things like water and bread are always not there in the mornings , speaking different languages on shop floor , terrible customer service.. I could go on , it's too much now we just avoid it. (To my knowledge all the above are against policy)

Excellent customer service from all the staff members and they were very kind and helpful. The store is often very quiet and most people use this Tesco Express for mostly top up shops hence why the Meal Deal section was very small compared to other Tesco Express stores I've visited. There is a great range of halal products all across the store (especially the Jamaican Patties at 95p) and the branch is well stocked. It was also very clean and well organised (other Tesco Express branches I've been in are not that clean at all if I'm being honest) due to how quiet it is, most the items are always nearing their best before or sell by date so I would advise you check the dates before buying anything. Having said that, there are always plenty of excellent yellow sticker bargains to be found particularly after 6pm/7pm. I managed to get Tesco Finest Ready Meals for well under a £1 which are normally £3 something. However, if your looking to do a bigger shop or a medium-sized shop, I would strongly suggest you shop at the Morrisons off Ascot Road instead. They are cheaper and of course have a much bigger variety and range than this Tesco Express branch. There is one card only self checkout and 3 staff checkouts. Feels weird going into a Tesco Express and seeing one card only checkout haha but anyways this branch is not busy at all so you will find everything you when you checkout. Overall, a great Tesco branch and I really enjoyed my first time shopping here. Only a 6-10 minute walk from Watford General Hospital as well.

The employees there are very helpful and they care about their customers. My credit card had been retained and, as they can do nothing about it, they told me what to do next. There is a large range of products, and the opening/closing time is very practical.
