I recently visited Waitrose and unfortunately had an unpleasant experience. While shopping, I noticed that me and family were being followed by a female Asian security staff, which felt uncomfortable and unnecessary. It seemed as though we were being singled out for no reason, and I couldn’t help but feel that it was due to our skin colour. What made the situation particularly ironic was that the security guard herself was Asian. Apparently, diversity alone doesn’t guarantee fair treatment, some people clearly still need proper training. I believe the security team could benefit from further training to ensure they treat all customers equally and professionally. It’s important for everyone to feel welcomed and respected while shopping, but instead, we felt targeted and uncomfortable during our visit. After spending nearly Β£180, there was absolutely no sense of value in the experience. Instead of feeling valued as a customer, we felt watched, judged, and unwelcome. The lack of professionalism in handling this situation was disappointing, and I hope the store will address these concerns to avoid similar experiences in the future.

We visited the Twickenham Waitrose yesterday evening and, unfortunately, our experience was very uncomfortable. While shopping, a security staff (Asian girl) member repeatedly followed us around the store. This was noticeable and made us feel singled out, especially as there were many other customers shopping at the same time who were not being monitored in the same way. We fully understand that during busy periods like Christmas, security staff need to be vigilant. However, there is a difference between discreet observation and behaviour that makes customers feel awkward, unwelcome, or potentially racially targeted. After spending over Β£180 in store, we left feeling undervalued rather than appreciated. When we raised our concerns at the till, we were told the staff member was β€œjust doing their job,” but this should not come at the expense of customers feeling uncomfortable or unfairly treated. We hope management will review how security is handled so that all customers feel respected and welcome.

Staff are all really helpful. But the self checkout process is a bit poor. The loyalty card is pretty pointless and the check out always fails to recognise your card

Unfortunately for the 2nd time in several weeks the self-service till wouldn't work. This time (Saturday 2nd August, 8:50am) the keypad was defective. So frustrating to spend twice as much time trying to pay for my purchases as it did to shop for them. I've noticed a number of the self-service till with upturned shopping backets placed on the weighing scales, indicating they are faulty. The till I tried to use on Saturday was left 'open' for use after the issue I had with it. The next person will experience the same problem.

When I went to shop yesterday at around mid day, I did went to the customer care counter and the duty manager told me that I will be given 2hr free parking for a Β£20 spend. She repeatedly told me its Β£20. However, after shopping and I ask her the the 2 hrs free parking voucher, she told me that β€˜I have told you earlier its Β£30’! It’s not about money because 2hrs parking is not a lot of money. But I feel I have been scammed. Also the way the manager spoke is pushing her fault to the customer by given incorrect information and dishonest. Waitrose, as a company with good reputation, should have investigated such manner.

Quality is top draw, staff are sooper pleasant, no separate prices advertised for meaningless 'loyalty store cards' and more.

A great sized supermarket with all the foods and drinks you would need. With plenty of parking which is refunded when spending in store it is easy to come for a big or small shop. Service is always great as expected from Waitrose. I would prefer to go here all the time if it was more local.

I was shopping with my husband on 16th Dec 2022. At 8:30pm The security guard looked like an asian man Slightly dark. He was making us feel uncomfortable as an interracial couple. He kept following us and made us feel unwelcome. He was looking at me (a black lady) I work in banking. Was well dressed. I did not deserve that treatment. He made feel very uncomfortable as he was look at me and I was very scared as he kept looking at me...I don't know why but I felt very uncomfortable. I was only there to shop with my husband as evey normal person does. I was in Twickenham for dinner and we decided to get a bottle before going home. I live in parsons green and have the best experience at parsons green waitrose. I hope this doesn't happen to any customer again. I hope the manager will train this security guard to treat everyone equally and not discriminate on skin colour

Good, large Waitrose that has most of what you could need. Good option of self-checkout or normal tills as well. Sometimes fresh food is mouldy even in the shop, which is odd and shows lack of attention, or it goes off incredibly quickly after bringing it home.
