   I had an extremely unpleasant experience with a security guard during my visit. I was told that I was not allowed to enter the shop with a pushchair, with the guard stating that people with pushchairs steal. At the time, I had my six-month-old baby asleep in the pushchair. When I challenged this comment as discriminatory, the guard proceeded to follow me around the store and insisted that I carry a basket throughout my visit. This behaviour was intimidating, inappropriate, and wholly unacceptable. Based on other comments, this does not appear to be an isolated incident. I will be taking this matter further.

   I visited yesterday early afternoon and had a bit of a medical crisis and I passed out and hit my head in the first isle on the fridge… initially a fellow costumer heard it and screamed for security as I was still out. I came through quite quick which at that point the lady had already had an elderly man come over as well in which they both asked me if I needed anything and I said anything with High sugar like a coke in which the older gentleman went and got for me. Staff from the store and Asian man (sorry didn’t catch his name) came over and checked on me multiple times in which after like the fourth time he asked me if I would like to go to there office and sit on one of the chairs as I was still on the floor. They looked after me well and didn’t make the situation awkward at all. Even after I felt better and went to continue my shopping a lady that works there even offered to hold my basket for me in which I politely declined cause they had already done enough. I wish I knew how to contact Tesco head office to inform them of the amazing service and way this team treated me yesterday. Sorry I didn’t say it at the moment as I was still a bit dizzy/confused but thank you all for your help.

   I've had awful experience with a security personnel on the 16th of September around 3pm. He harassed me while I was trying to shop; lone, pregnant woman. I believe it is the same person that was mentioned numerous times in reviews; I am escalating further this experience with Tesco.

   Visited this Tesco on 02/09/2025 around 12 pm looking for prunes, and was shocked by the behaviour of the security guard. He rudely told me that Tesco “does not allow window shopping” — which is absolutely ridiculous. His attitude was insulting, unfriendly, and completely unprofessional. This is not the behaviour you expect at Tesco, a company known for its reputation. Security staff like this damage the store’s image and make customers feel unwelcome. Very disappointing experience.    Compared to the other branch on London Road, there's a lovely security with a durag who always greets you when you come in. It would've been 5 stars if the other security were also like this. However, I do appreciate that they don't follow you around the store from aisle to aisle like on London Road and make you feel like you're being watched. Instead, they remain at the door and do their jobs. I really appreciate that because I'm not anxious about being watched and can just do my shopping in peace.

   Im giving the 5* rating mainly because this branch has the most helpful and the most polite security man called Anthony. He is always welcoming and ready to help. What a brilliant personality! Makes the whole shopping experience a pleasure. The man should get promoted!
