Hidden gem! Lovely place for a gentle walk in pretty scenery and a cracking tea room too.

Just a quick note for anyone planning to visit: It isn’t open every Sunday, only on "the last Sunday of each month". Unfortunately, we missed it this time, but the view from outside the gate is still wonderful. I’ll definitely visit again!

The lakes and the Riverside walk to the waterfall was very pretty and lovely. The lake (only open last Sunday of the month 10am-3pm) and cafe is accessible, the Riverside walk less so, although there is a dirt road that maybe is, alongside the river. Smashing cafe with live music and home made cakes, soup etc. Unisex toilets. Plenty of parking, though the track down to it is a bit hazardous to suspension! Well worth the trip though. The viaduct is fabulous too.

Nice walk along the river with lots to see, because of the dry weather there was lots os lime dust when cars go past.

Lovely paths to walk by huge lake, good for bird watchers (bring binoculars) on the last Sunday of every month 10am to 3pm (free entry).

Lovely quiet place for a walk, nice little cafe and tea rooms. Worth a visit. Lots of history dotted about.

It wasn't open but that was my fault for not paying attention to the fact that it has open days every last Sunday of the month, otherwise it's all locked up. Also a word of caution to drivers of non 4 wheel drive cars.. Google maps will take you there but the last few miles is track that is deeply pitted. Otherwise it looks lovely but I won't be returning by car!

I have walked , cycled and ran here often and really enjoy the labyrinth of paths and tracks around the area. A walk upto Mellor Cross is definitely recommended. Since the pandemic the actual Lakes and Cafe seem to have been closed. This is a great pity because I would give this five stars if it was , as they used to do great cake. I'll keep walking and running past and longing for the day it reopens...if it ever will.

Held our wedding at the Roman Lakes a couple of weeks ago and it was fantastic. The guests loved the relaxed feel of the place. We went back today as they were holding an "Open Day". They're still not fully open since covid but will be holding more events to invite the public back in to the park. Had a lovely walk round today. Had a brew and some food and fed the ducks!
