i bought the £1.59 mochi and it was terrible to say the least, they sold it to me for full price, but when i tasted it - it had gone hard, almost like it was expired. so dissapointed

Do not buy the discounted products as they are expired, not best before date. Much of the products sold in the store are at an affordable price given there a few options for East Asian food near Dartford. However, on this occasion I purchased a Hot Pot mix labelled in English as Best Before Date meaning it should be consumable after the date on the pack. However, on getting the mix home and opening it we found the contents had spoiled. Removing the stores relabelling of the product revealed the original product said an expiry date as in not to be consumed after the date on the product. This action is illegal as it’s miselling and puts consumer health at risk, the relabelling is also such that unless you damage the concealing labelling you would not know the truth from looking at the product. So buyers beware, just buy the fresh, non discounted food and check the original packaging carefully. The staff gave no warning.

Lovely little shop in the orchards shopping centre which was a very nice suprise. Packed with lots of Asian foods and I think the prices are a bit dear on some things, but reasonably competitive on others. Overall it is a lovely place, I purchased some curry powder, udon noodles, dumplings and Chinese tea for £20. Quite a good buy. Will defo return.

A staff was not friendly at all. There was a sign of price drop but the staff at the till was nearly shouting at me 'no' and some other product was wrongly priced. More expensive than any other shop. edit: Thank you for your reply however it's not likely I'd travel there. And that you'd know and give me the offer :/

Over priced. The machine is easy to double scan your shopping. Please do check your receipts. Difficult to get refund from them. Terrible experience.

So many nice goods and more variety than before (especially from different countries), more fresh veg, tropical fruit, and nice indoor plants

Shine Food specialise in being a global grocery shop, selling foods from all around the world, although there is a strong Asian bias, or at least that was the sections I was drawn to. There is also an excellent American section. Located within the Orchards Shopping Centre, the unit is very well lit, bright and easy to navigate. There are no steps or issues with disabled access, but I would recommend those that need reading glasses to bring them, as prices are only on small price labels on the products and shelves. A recent change is that the product descriptions now carry a flag of the country of origin and an english translation of what the packaging says in case you cannot read it. Staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. With free samples of hot food being given away on their opening weekend. Most of the food sold here tends to be long life, but there are chiller cabinets and freezers too. If you fancy cooking something different for dinner or lunch, this is definately a great place to shop.
