There’s a lady working at Sainsbury’s (an Arabic staff member) who consistently refuses to accept the Digital ID shown on my phone as proof that I’m over 18. Despite me explaining several times that this is a legally recognized form of identification in the UK, she continues to insist that it’s not valid and asks me to go back to my car or home to get my physical wallet. This has happened on multiple occasions and it’s becoming very frustrating — especially since other staff members at Sainsbury’s have accepted the same Digital ID without issue. It’s clear that she either hasn’t been properly trained or doesn’t understand that digital forms of ID are legally accepted. I would really appreciate it if someone from management could take the time to educate or train her on current ID policies and customer service standards. It’s inconvenient and unfair to keep sending customers away when they’re following legitimate procedures. Thanks for your attention to this matter. Also would like to add that shes not a normal worker she is team leader or manager which makes this even worse. She should know all this.

The male manager is very rude, he cannot recognize the identity card and refuse to sell the alcohol. That card is still valid and can be used in the Tesco just near this store 100m. That's rediculous!

Absolutely appalling experience. I was forcibly removed from this store simply for entering with my Emotional Support Animal, despite showing valid documentation. I’m traveling internationally and explained that I’m not a UK resident, but I carry an official EU pet passport and a certificate from my licensed mental health professional. There was a sign stating assistance animals were allowed — yet I was treated with zero empathy, questioned aggressively, and eventually dragged out as if I were causing a public disturbance. This was not only humiliating, but discriminatory and deeply ignorant. If your policy excludes non-UK documentation, then state that clearly. Otherwise, don’t advertise yourselves as a pet-accessible space when you clearly are not. Absolutely disgraceful behavior.

Stumbled across this shop, whilst staying overnight nearby in London. A good shop with pretty much all you could need at good prices and well stocked. Lots of fresh items available even though quite late in the evening and a bank holiday weekend. None of the usual hiked prices you get in most places throughout London. Friendly, helpful staff.

Are you from out of town? Don't expect much here. Anything that you as a traveller might need (say something you forgot to pack), odds are, they don't have it. This place should change its name to "Packet of crisps and a fizzy drink", as that's about all that they have. I can't count the number of times this interaction happened: "Excuse me, do you have (something)?" "No, we don't have that."

It does not surprise me that all reviews seem to be about the diabolical, absolutely disgusting service you receive for being A paying customer. After their staff wasted 20 minutes of my lunch due to no training, and the manager not wanting to do any work so instead will make excuses as to why they have no staff on the counter at 2pm I entered at 1.50pm, none of this made any sense and Instead the customer was to blame, although this was no fault of a paying customer. I was verbally abused by the manager HABIB, (clearly very unhappy) and his own staff had to apologise for his awful behaviour with other customers as shocked as myself. Not to mention that in the end I had to obtain a refund due to such bad service. Another customer lost. Not to mention his mask was around his chin whilst making a pizza for a customer. AVOID!

Nice to have this supermarket next to my flat, customer service is great but unfortunately, there are no enough products... just few items to get out of troubles.. Four stars because of the service and convenient location, but not enough daily products.
