The state of this shop is shocking. It's absolutely filthy and the floor is in such a state of disrepair that it is a trip hazard. Last time I was there, the floor was covered in milk while staff just went about their business. They didn't bother clearing it up and pushed their big carts through it and tracked it around the shop. Some of the shelves are so grimey that I wonder if the food is safe to eat. Sainsbury HQ should intervene.

Two weeks ago I politely asked that you turned up the heat of the Costa coffee machine on the way out. Today got a nearly cold Latte, and a burnt bacon sandwich, tough as old boots with stale bread. I dread to think what my sausage roll will be like at lunchtime. So here is your one star review reward.

So, I cut into a “Ready to Eat” Mixed Salad from Sainsbury’s (beetroot, lamb’s lettuce, chard)—and surprise—I found a dead bug living its final life among the leaves. Yup, totally NOT in the mood for a crunch with my greens. Offered a £5 voucher, like “Here’s a sweetener for your stomach’s betrayal.” But sorry—nothing tokeny is gonna fly when it comes to food safety. This isn’t just ick—it’s a real risk (especially with RTE salads being a hotbed for microbes and bacteria from farm to fridge)!

This store is terrible i see people steal every day. Not one staff member here is helpful or looks like they want to live let alone work. If you ask for help you will just get a grumpy mumble in response and have to figure it out for yourself. I almost left without my argos parcel because no one would tell me where to go, or just help me themselves. The desire to help and speed of work doesn’t depend on how busy it is or how many staff are on either. Maybe the problem is management but its hard to tell as a customer when there seems to be none… honestly i feel like i should be getting payed to shop because it genuinely feels like work!

Sainsbury’s at Canada Water – Small but Impressively Stocked Sainsbury’s at Canada Water may be a relatively small store, but it punches well above its weight when it comes to variety and convenience. Despite its compact size, the store is impressively well-stocked, offering a wide range of everyday essentials alongside an extensive selection of Oriental and Asian food products. For those seeking diverse ingredients or specialty items, the international food section is a standout feature. It caters particularly well to Asian cuisine enthusiasts, with a surprising range of noodles, sauces, spices, and other authentic ingredients that are often hard to find in smaller supermarkets. The store is clean, well-organized, and easy to navigate, with friendly staff who are always on hand to help. Whether you’re popping in for a quick shop or looking for something specific, Sainsbury’s at Canada Water offers an excellent shopping experience in a convenient location. Overall: 9/10 — Small but mighty.

Sainsbury’s Local (Canada Water branch) is located next to Canada Water underground and bus station. It is very easy to buy snacks and drinks on the go from here. It has a bakery and it sells hot pastries and pizzas, too.

Chronic lack of staff at self-service makes queuing unnecessarily long. Staff are constantly juggling manning the self-service checkouts with loading shelves on the other side of the shop. Whenever they leave the area the queue piles up again until they eventually get called back - particularly problematic when people are trying to buy items that require 5 mins to get age-checked. Would be much better if either (1) they had one person constantly manning the tills or (2) approvals could be made from the main tills like in Tesco where they figured this out years ago.

Very handy small store with all the essentials. Freshly baked panini bread and croissants are delicious (+ best bananas in town)! Customer service is friendly. It's just that sometimes it's under-staffed and with so many self-checkout machines, you may need to be a little patient if things don't scan and you need human help.

Horrible service and no care for customer at all. I find really hard to pay for my stuff at self check out because of the load. There is always only one person at till and takes literally 5-10mins with customers not caring at all for the queue. At self check out bags are not available and when you ask for one at the staff responsible for self check out area tell yous you to go grab it at the main till. I do not understand what these staff are hired for when they’re not serving customers properly with simple things like providing bags or be easily pay for their stuff and leave! Get it together - honestly this is really disappointing for Sainsbury!!
