My partners just been in and came out worse than she went in… receptionist wasn’t bothered, pharmacist rolled his eyes, had to google stuff and made her feel worse than when she went in. Wouldn’t recommended this one to anyone…

Medication is never ready on time, they say 72 hours and when you turn up 4 days later you still have to wait over half an hour! Some staff are quite rude and they never pick up the phone when I have called ahead to make sure medication is ready. Quite frankly it's the worst pharmacy I've ever had experience of dealing with....... Unfortunately it's the only one open late in the local area so we have no choice but to use them!

72 hour waits for prescriptions! And even then they are not done. Having to wait even longer. Also waited a fortnight for HRT medication is ridiculous. AVIOD

Once again, my prescription wasn't ready. Apparently they hadn't received it until a long time after it was sent. Did I need it urgently? If so I could wait and they would do it. Staff have a not bothered attitude. I now doubt the pharmacist is full time. Everyone in the queue was complaining.

Never had a problem with this pharmacy, until yesterday (sat 3rd may) I had to go to an emergency gp who did me a script with 2 items on it and I asked him to send it to Asda pharmacy. I was informed that pharmacy closed at 4pm. I got there at 2.50pm. I cued up (there was 6 people in the cue) I got to the front and handed my prescription to the assistant and she said it would be ready in 20 mins, so I did abit of shopping in store. I came back and there were 10 people cuing up, so I reluctantly joined the cue and waited patiently. I got to the front and asked the assistant if my medication was ready and gave my name. The assistant went in the back room to check, but there was only 1 item done and I was told it needed checking by the pharmacist. I stood to the right of the counter and waited another 15 minutes. People were being served before me. I eventually asked the assistant to please check if my medication was ready? Again she disappeared into the back. 5 minutes later, the pharmacist came out to talk to me and told me that there was a problem with 1 of the much needed medications being out of stock and they could order it, but it wouldn't be ready until the following Wednesday because of the bank holiday, but I could try another pharmacy. The pharmacist was nice and polite but seemed flustered and under pressure. I did feel sorry for him. I rang Boots in Barnsley town centre and I was informed that fortunately they had it in stock, but I needed to get there quick as they closed at 5pm. Asda couldn't give me just the 1 item they had processed, so they had to cancel the prescription, so I could go elsewhere. Eventually I left Asda pharmacy at 4.20pm red faced with steam coming out of my ears! Luckily I was able to get to Boots pharmacy and collect my medication before it closed. I am usually so patient, but on this occasion I was annoyed at the whole process. I'm not sure what system they are using, but it's clearly not working. They need a proper type of cuing system or more trained staff. Everyone in the cue seemed to be restless, a poor man in front of me had bad sciatica, but he didn't want to sit down as frightened he would loose his space in the cue. I have also read some of the other reveiws which I can definitely relate to. I will be using Boots from now on.

Only recently joined Asda pharmacy for electronic prescription ordering etc as I had so much stress and hassle from the previous chemist I was with. All I can say is from first asking about how to change to the Asda pharmacy to picking up my medications was brilliant, so smooth, straightforward and informative. Absolutely perfect and all persons I came into contact with were really helpful friendly and polite. They did all the electronic info change over and set up the txt messaging service for me. I’ve given 5* but if there were more I’d give them, so it’s 5+* from me.

We we're sent from the doctors to pick my child's prescription up at 9.45 pm on the 29th to be told by asda pharmacy we don't have this in stock, then told to call back in the afternoon on the 30th,we decided to give them a ring at 11.30am on the 30th to see if the antibiotics were ready and was told that they would need to re order them but they would order from 2 separate suppliers to make sure we got them, we rang back at 3.30pm to see if anything had arrived and the lady said yes its ready, I asked if a friend could pick them up as we work full time and we're struggling to get there, lady said yes that's fine, sent our friend to pick them up only to be told they still hadn't got the antibiotics.. Then find out from our friend that as he walked away and turned around to look the man and lady behind the pharmacy counter were laughing at him... Worst service ever from a pharmacy.. Only to be laughed at to.

Great for filling prescriptions whilst you shop and they have a good range. However, the staff are not very discrete or approachable - more judgemental with absolutely no concept of patient confidentiality. You're not doctors or medics so just stick to service with a smile, maybe?
