It's an amazing historic palace which reveals a lot of secrets about Henry VIII and his era. Also the palace open space is very attractive and there are many seasional events and festivals such as Christmas Fayre and Artisan Festival etc. Its Magic Garden is so attractive for kids and young teenagers too.

Hampton Court Palace provides a magnificent and engaging excursion year-round, which becomes even more special during the festive season due to its popular Christmas offerings. The palace expertly blends the imposing grandeur of Henry VIIIβs Tudor court with the refined elegance of William IIIβs later Baroque additions. During December, the palace grounds host the Hampton Court Palace Festive Fayre, which in 2025 took place over two weekends (December 5-7 and December 12-14). This event transforms the courtyards and Great Fountain Garden into a food-lover's winter wonderland with: Over 100 independent artisan producers: Offering a wide array of food, drinks (like mulled wine and specialty spirits), homewares, and unique gifts, perfect for Christmas shopping. Delicious street food: Visitors can indulge in various culinary delights from numerous stalls, including options like pizza, gourmet burgers, churros, and more, while enjoying the festive atmosphere. Live entertainment: The atmosphere is enhanced with merry music from a bandstand and talented choirs performing Christmas carols, adding a joyful backdrop to the experience. Entry to the Festive Fayre is included with a standard palace admission ticket, allowing visitors to also explore the historic palace, the famous maze, and the beautiful 60 acres of gardens, which are decked out in festive decorations. Additionally, the palace's stunning ice rink is typically open from November to January, offering a magical skating experience against the backdrop of the Tudor palace, though this requires a separate ticket. Overall, it is a highly recommended day trip destination that successfully combines rich historical education with enjoyable, family-friendly Christmas activities and breathtaking outdoor spaces. To make sure you don't miss out on next year's event, would you like me to find the dates for the Hampton Court Palace Christmas Festival in 2026 so you can plan ahead?

If you want to explore a beautifully maintained castle with an abundance of history then this is a place you need to visit when in London. An easy 45min Train ride from central London gets you here. Tickets include an audio guide with multiple tour options covering the history of the palace, the Tudor Dynasty and descriptions of the many ornate rooms. The Palace and grounds are sprawling so expect to spend at least a half a day here.

Itβs a great day out with a lot to see and do, however it was a little lacking especially when considering value for money. We went during Halloween and a lot of effort was made for that which was great. The cafes served good food was a good selection but was on the pricey side! Facilities were good and staff were friendly and helpful. They have. Car park but you have to get there early, we just kissed out but there is car parking at the train station just over the bridge.

Hampton Court Palace is a magnificent historic site full of Tudor charm and rich history. The gardens are stunning and perfect for a leisurely walk. The palace interiors are grand, showcasing beautiful architecture and fascinating exhibitions. Staff are mostly helpful, though some areas could be improved for visitor engagement. The audio guide enhances the experience. A great day out for history lovers and families alike, though ticket prices are a bit steep

Lovely day out, huge amount to look at, the maze was smaller than I thought but still challenging. The magical garden is superb for the kids, glad we went there last otherwise we'd have spent the whole day in the play area! Take towels and maybe a change of clothes as the magical garden includes fountains and sand pits for the kids to play in.

Loved it so much! We spent a day there with a friend, it was super sunny so we enjoyed a lunch outside in the gardens (nothing fancy but the atmosphere is cute) then the palace itself is beautiful and mind-blowing. You can even wear those robes / capes to dress up when youβre walking around. Not too sure if itβs all the time happening but King Henry was having a stroll outside and few others. The gardens are stunning, thereβs a maze as well where you can get lost. I also had my first English afternoon tea and loved it.

We visited last week of the summer academic term on a week day, there was no queue for any part of the palace. We did book our tickets in advance but it wasn't busy. We did park a short distance away in the Hampton Court Green Car park which had plenty of space and Coach parking. The staff were nice and approachable. We enjoyed using audio guides to hear information about each room within the palace. The history was magnificent and well presented. There are plenty of toilets on site, and places to stop and sit down if you need a rest. They do have a cafe and restaurant along side a stand in the garden for ice-cream. The gardens are well looked after and there is something to look at on the grounds in every direction you go. Great day out!

It's a wonderful place to visit with friends or family. Best to visit in the warm weather and when events are on. Best to buy tickets online. In peak times expect queues at the entrance, but in takes few minutes to get in. You can come with your car and use the paid parking situated a few minutes walk away. Or with the train.. get off at Hampton Court station or bus Hampton Court Gardens (stop B or A). The palace is one of the most famous and beautiful in London. It's right to River Thames. The garden is big even if a big part is off limits to public. The flower gardens are nice. When events are on you can spend the whole day here. Close to the palace you can find restaurants, coffee and tea shops, ice-cream stands and take aways. Close to the palace is Bushy Park.

Excellent day out despite the good British weather! Not as quiet as I was expecting thanks to a couple of year 8 school trips with rowdy teenagers (poor teachers!) but I let them all get ahead so I had the place to myself in parts, was handy to remain in listening distance at times to hear the history teacher explain certain parts too! Gardens were stunning and well maintained, the Palace itself is steeped in history, my only disappointment was that the Chapel was closed and not put on the website in advance - good excuse to go back though right?
