I’ve been a patient at this practice for over 18 years and have always received good care in the past, but sadly things have really declined recently. I’ve been dealing with an ongoing heart issue and, despite a strong family history of heart disease, there has been no proper follow-up, medication review, tests, or blood pressure monitoring. The ECG machine has been broken multiple times this year - meaning every ECG appointment I make is cancelled, so they’ve been unable to provide essential checks. Even worse, patients aren’t being referred elsewhere when this happens, despite NHS guidelines clearly stating they should be. The reception staff are often rude and unhelpful, and it feels as though messages and emails never reach the GPs or practice manager. After nearly two decades as a patient, I’m extremely disappointed by how poor the care and communication have become. I’ve now had to go private just to get a simple ECG, diagnostic tests, and a treatment plan. Westbrook Medical Centre, you should be ashamed of the level of care provided regarding this issue — first reported back in January 2025.

If less than 1 star was possible to be given, it would surely be the case. Reception staff arrogant and are fully trained medical staff according to themselves. Practice is empty yet no appointments for 4 weeks.

Did an E Consult at 8am 6 working days ago on Monday, then an urgent form since no reply at all, 4 working days ago on Wednesday. Still not had a single form of communication from them. Totally at a loss at what to do. Resent another e consult today. Will be looking to complain somehow this isn't right, we all pay our taxes here.

Terrible surgery not helpful at all. Patient desperate for help was fobbed of . When eventually got a call of doctor no help was rushed of phone , she said you only have ten minutes ! I asked her to read my notes and asked for blood tests she said call again to make appointment ! This is now three times been asking for help!

Shocking waiting times 30-40 minutes each time I call and apppears receptionists are now trained gp assessors. The surgery needs more doctors for volume of patients and more receptionists to support it’s clearly over capacity and frustrating patients like myself. There is no community doctor feeling one bit in this surgery. For all the good work the doctors do when finally seen is hindered by all the smoke and politics prior.

I guess many people only leave reviews following a negative experience (and such experiences are inevitable where there is heavy footfall - no matter where you go). They treated mum like a Queen in her old age, were lovely throughout dads cancer treatment, and I must say I’ve never had any issues at all. 5 stars from me.

Since COVID Westbrook Medical Practice in Warrington service has gone appalling. I have sadly been off work for 4 months waiting for an operation. I need regular medication and monthly sick notes. They started with their online service only being available during opening hours and now March 2022 they are turning that off at ANYTIME of the day. Seemingly if too many people are ill it’s too much work for them. I have been sending regular emails as a way of getting repeat prescriptions but my emails today are being sent back undelivered. I rang the practice and was told to try again at 8am the next day, or go round with a note of my own! Seeing as I am not mobile, she suggested someone do it for me. Unbelievable poor customer service. When someone is not well the last thing they need is to be messed around. Sadly the COVID excuse for everything is wearing very thin. But I can see in GP practices it will be here to stay.

Can't get through to the receptionist on the phone to make appointments as the lines are always too busy. Also can't go to the reception desk anymore to make an appointment due to Covid. So what's the point of sending me letters through the post asking me to come for a flu jab amongst other things when it's so difficult to attend the surgery in the first place. Also having to wait a month to get any kind of appointment is just ridiculous. Hope things are back to some kind of normality sometime next year to make life easier for patients again.

My daughter rang up for some help for boyfriend as they both have covid. He was on day 8 and struggling. There advice, go to the walk in centre in widnes with covid (walk down 4 flight of stairs, drive, coughing and possibly spread the virus to others). No advice, no empathy, no reassurance. Doctors there are apparently good, but trying to get even a telephone consultation is a battle with their reception staff and more chance of plating fog. The receptionist was awful . As a result of no help from this surgery he got worse an ambulance had to be called and was taken to hospital, and is still very poorly. Thank god my daughter is with springfield medical centre, they gave great advice help and guidance. Try to be kind to patients, we understand your extremely busy at these hard times but when your advised to ring your gp you expect a little compassion.
