Convenient overnight stay, or otherwise, for Chester city centre area. Rooms excellent; reasonable pricing. Some Reception staff a bit robotish as against customer friendly we found. Overall good stay. Frank
2nd visit to this Travelodge. I need an accessible room. No complaints last time, but we are in a different room now. Room 101, wasn't expecting twin beds for our anniversary trip but never mind. They were comfortable. However, the toilet leaks so using the bathroom during the night and getting wet feet isn't something I relish!! The AC unit also dripped. I guess the condenser is not fully operational. We check out tomorrow. The overpowering odour of sweat in the lobby and the lifts was not pleasant. We may try the other Travelodge next time.
Can’t fault it! They allowed us to check our bags early, the room was big and clean and the bar area was lovely, newly renovated and styled well and comfortable. Most of all the service by all staff was excellent! Especially Tommy, he was so friendly and represented the company well!
Great location and lovely staff! Stayed three nights and really enjoyed the view of the old church and the central location. The staff were friendly, attentive, and handled everything professionally — they even offered me a free breakfast after fixing a room issue. The breakfast itself was excellent: fresh, generous, and great value. A few small things could be improved — the towels on arrival were damp, the shower-gel dispenser didn’t work, and the air conditioning was noisy. The “Top-Up” door sign was missing too, so I had to go to reception to ask for one. Overall, a pleasant stay with amazing staff and great breakfast — just needs better housekeeping checks and quieter A/C.
Travelodge chester central bridge is in a fantastic location for going to see the sights of chester. Its a 10 min walk to the River Dee where you can walk along to the roman Gardens and Amptitheatre and nearby Grosvenor Park. In the other direction its close to the town centre shopping area, cathedral and city walls. So if you are after somewhere that means less walking its a great spot. There are however steps up to the foyer and no wheelchair ramp. Overall the hotel reception, bar and cafe are clean and well maintained. The evening menu choice is a bit limited if you are looking for something a bit more substantial, I'd go to the pub or near by restaurants, that said the food isn't bad. Plenty of choice for breakfast too if you are doing that as part of the deal. However The room I had was ok, in one sense, but the bathroom hadnt been cleaned throughly. It wasn't dirty just dusty but youd expect it to be spotless. I have mentioned this in my review to them. And the pillows were rubbish and need changing. That aside, everything else was ok. Would still recommend this hotel if anyone asked.
Comfy and clean only complaint what's going on with these rooms not having drawers or wardrobes??? Is it me getting old? Where am I supposed to put my clean knickers????? Living out of suitcase! Staff lovely all in all a great stay
I choose Travelodge for value and location. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I particularly want to praise Danielle. She checked me in and was very welcoming. I ate in the restaurant that evening. I was the only diner so had a bit of a wait. No problem for me as the food was freshly cooked and very good value. I was pleasantly surprised when Danielle added a large glass of wine to make up for my long wait. I will definitely return as I trust the brand.
Good service although it appeared there was only one member of staff when we arrived, he was running reception and the bar and all other things by himself. The room was good although it's very easy to flood the bathroom floor when using the shower and a soap dish would be nice. Apart from that, all good.
The staff on arrival very friendly and helpful but after that the front desk was hardly manned. The room was clean and comfortable, but if you are going to have gadgets in a room then please have instructions on how they work! The air con was on all the time when really it wasn't needed and in fact made the room quite chilly. If the desk had been manned I could have asked for help! Also I found it quite strange that that there was no mirror by the table.
