βAmazing staff and owner. The booking website made an error and let me book a room where in fact the hotel was fully booked. The owner was there and tried his best to sort things out. He called other hotels and was able to find us a hotel nearby for the same night. Would love to actually stay here if I'm back in town!β
βSite up-to usual club standards and wardens helpful and polite. Location perfect for the designer shopping 15 minute walk away including a Sainsburyβs supermarket and several eating places. Not far from the canal boat museum, Anderton boat lift, Chester - use park and ride just 3 miles away, Port Sunlight garden centre, museum and art gallery and Blakemere Village just a few miles from the Anderton boat lift.β
βHad an absolutely fantastic stay here. The staff were so accommodating, had to extend our stay by a night and it was no issue. Rooms were lovely and clean, the beds were very comfortable. Location was fantastic. I would come back to this hotel in a heartbeat.β
βExcellent location and great value for the quality. Very attentive staff who communicated from start to finish to ensure our stay went smoothly. Aimee and Shannon were amazing. Loved staying in the zoo and the upgrade package was definitely worth it. Can't wait to be backβ
βStayed overnight whilst in the area for a friendβs birthday party. Lovely, clean room with spacious bathroom - shower looked like it had been installed days ago. The best breakfast Iβve had for a long time - freshly cooked eggs royal. Really extensive breakfast menu and very reasonably priced. All cooked to order. Beautiful presentation. Delightful staff.β
βWe needed somewhere close to the waterways museum and this was the perfect spot. The staff in the hotel and the restaurant were great, happy, smiling nothing too much trouble and the meal we had was excellent. Our room on the 3rd floor gave us great views over the canals and museum. I would highly recommend. The only potential problem is what appears to be limited parking, although there was a wedding on when we were there which may have been the cause of the problem.β
βI found this a hidden gem. Room was great. Staff very helpfull. Price quality equation very good. Food also good. Parking great for the bike. Trucks passing by can disturb light sleeping people, but i am not.β
βWonderful location. The accommodation size and quality is what we expected for the price of a suite. We did have one precariously wonky and unstable table. The bed was incredibly comfy. We enjoyed being able to order breakfast to the room.β
βI didnr stay at this hotel but went for dinner with friends and I just wanted to say that having eaten several times at this hotel this was the very best. The main thing was the service. We had a delightful young woman that looked after us she was efficient, knowledgeable, well presented and took our orders with minimum effort. Why cant all waiting on staff be like her. She even listened to my suggestion of a large print menu or magnifier to assist people with poor sight to remain independent whilst out. Having spoken in favour of our waiting on staff I should also say the food was lovely too.β
βStayed here the night before my wedding in Chester in the Ascot Suite apartment. Lovely, spacious room with a panoramic view of the Racecourse, and which provided a great backdrop for the photos of myself and the Groomsmen getting ready in prior to the wedding. Separate bedroom was a good size with comfy bed for the night, and the kitchen/lounge area was very spacious which was used in the aforementioned photos. The staff on the front desk were super friendly and helpful, can't complement them enough. A great place to stay in a lovely city.β
βI would like to express my sincere appreciation for the exceptional service provided by the gentleman who worked night shift on the 27th November 2025. From the moment we arrived, his kindness and warm hospitality made us feel truly welcome. My husband just lost his mam that night and we both were devastated. My husband forgot to register our car but the gentleman offered his help and sorted it out for us. He even offered his condolences which is very kind and heartwarming. Unfortunately we forgot to ask his name. He wears glasses and worked night shift on 27 November 2025. He consistently went above and beyond to ensure every detail was taken care of, always greeting us with a friendly smile and a genuine willingness to help. We only stayed for 1 night but we've already decided to book this hotel again every time we're in the area.β
βComfortable bed , clean rooms , large bath room with a shower. Good restaurant and good breakfastβ
βI wouldn't leave my border collie with anyone else. I have full confidence every time I leave him and he has the best time at Canine Capers. Emma and James are brilliant him and all his quirks, and they've been lifesavers over the last couple years! We love the Facebook updates too, it's so good to see how happy all the dogs are.β
βBeen taking Bubbles (our Guinea Pig) here for a few years now when we are out of town. Great service and reliable - would recommend as always easy and hassle free! :)β
βAlison clearly loves dogs and her job. I felt totally comfortable leaving my little one with her for day care and a home stay. Pixie was well exercised and treated and we had constant updates to show us exactly what was going on. Alison is extremely professional in her approach, very responsive to all enquires and always helpful. Thank you!β
βBeautiful stay again at Thornton Hall hotel. Old school service where customers are valued, the staff are so friendly. Rooms are spotless and so comfortable. Great deals at the moment where you can use the spa as well. The spa is a special place so relaxing. Just love this hotel I have been many times and just feel it gets better with each visit.β
β10/10 thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel and spa. Lots of free parking available on arrival we were offered a complimentary cookie (vegan and gluten free option available) which was a lovely touch. The spa was beautiful and treatments were amazing. All the staff were lovely and helpful. The room was also very nice and clean. The bed and pillows were so comfortable. The food in the garden room was amazing thanks to the chef James and our server Ava was amazing and made sure my dietary requirements were met. Breakfast was also great. Overall 10/10 experience and Iβll be backβ
βWe have stayed at Leonardo hotels previously. This like the others was clean and comfortable. Staff are friendly and helpful. We had breakfast here, good choice and some items good be ordered ie poached or scrambled eggs and vegan sausage. Also oatmeal to order There was gf cereals and bread, with a separate toaster and plant based milks. Our room was very large,it is probably available for wheelchair users, but it was a bath with shower over, so that could be difficult.β
βGood quality accommodation at a reasonable price. The YHA has a fab recreation room, a communal kitchen, a canteen (serving a 10/10 full English/ continental breakfast) and a onside restaurant. Its also set in the most beautiful grounds around 12-15 minutes drive from Chester.β
βWe had our wedding here in July 2024. What an amazing day it was. The staff were brilliant and couldnβt do enough! Everything we needed was included in the dream wedding package. From the ceremony set up, to the reception to the food and the evening party, everything was how I wanted it and nothing was to much. I would definitely recommend rossett hall. We will never forget our special day and all the effort that you put in to it.β
βThe hotel was very nice, reception were friendly and informative. The bar area was a nice space, cocktails were really good as were the fresh coffees, the staff were friendly whilst professional at all times. Breakfast was very good too, constantly topped up with fresh food, decent variety of food on offer. The whole team throughout the hotel work extremely efficiently. You can often judge a place by their reaction when things go wrong and there was a very difficult intoxicated man in the bar area on Friday evening. The staff worked swiftly, professionally & effectively in removing him without disruption to other guests.β
βI visited Chester for the day (night trips) and I was feeling a bit unwell, so decided to go for a day reservation. It was just what I needed! Bed was so comfy, I had the best nap ever. Hotel is quiet and room was lovely, tidy clean, and nicely decorated. Polite and welcoming staff, I'll have Moxy hotels in mind for any of my future trips :)β
βBrilliant value for visiting the Christmas markets in Chester. Room was spotless, breakfast was delicious and service was spot on. A shout out to Anthony who was very friendly and helpful.β
βHad a 1 night stay here and it was absolutely incredible. Deserves more than 5 stars! The service, the food, the atmosphere.. all AMAZING! They were so accommodating as I was booking for my partners birthday, they made it extra special and the service was just perfect. The food is outstanding, one of the best meals weβve had. Itβs over a 2 and a half hour drive from us but we wouldnβt hesitate to stay again! Would totally recommend. Thank you :)β
βWe stayed here for the Chester marathon and had a lovely time. The staff were super friendly and the room was lovely. Breakfast was nice with plenty of options and it had free parking for hotel guests. The hotel was about 20/30 mins walk into the city centre. Thanks :)β
βA great Wetherspoons location. Hot food, friendly staff, reasonable prices, and it doesn't get too busy unless you pop in at peak times. Overall, a solid recommendation for a pint or a quick bite!β
βThis is a great hotel. Good location, spacious rooms, professional staff and huge breakfast buffet. While all the staff were great a special mention of Marie. Bright and cheerful each morning. Went way above ensuring you had a perfect breakfast. Highly recommend!β
βThe service of I think it was Sam (what a gentleman) and Libby (or Vicky?) the Night managers, was fabulous, they were lovely and helpful when I called and then turned up in the middle of the night after a household emergency. The room (44) could have done with with a little maintenance, maybe it was because I was a last-minute booking, but varnish peeling off doors, and various other little things that could be fixed in a day; carpet due for a refresh too. No plug near bed to charge phone - probably good for my health but not convenient in the circumstances. Breakfast was nice over at the pub next door and good value with the Premier Inn deal. The server there was lovely too. Conclusion - room could do with a touch up, but service was excellent, give these employees a bonus!β
βLovely clean hotel, very comfy beds. Staff really friendly especially Dominic on reception who was friendly, knowledgeable and went above and beyond in making our break very special. Great location for exploring Chester.β
βAbsolute brilliant spot to stop off at for the night, or however long youβre in Chester for. Even if youβre from Chester and looking for some down time I would highly recommend this place. Itβs positioned in the most convenient spot, with a great rooms, a great restaurant and great staff. Me and my partner enjoyed our stay here very much. Thank you guys!β
