“Fantastic value from Bancroft. My wife and I needed a place to crash during an NEC event. Having never used a guesthouse before, I was rather dubious. Bancroft exceeded my expectations! Victoria, the owner, was friendly, discreet and helpful. She provided a lovely upstairs room. Three large beds with optional fans for those of us that like air! My wife enjoyed breakfast one day. Excellent value and cooked to order. I will not hesitate to rebook next time I visit a conference. Apologies for the lousy picture and movie. They do not do justice to the establishment. Recommended.”

The owner, Al, along with Kath and the dedicated team of trained and compassionate staff, prioritize the well-being of all dogs in their care. They ensure that every animal's needs are met with genuine concern, providing us with peace of mind while we are apart from our fur babies. The communication regarding drop-off, pick-up, and any necessary updates during their stay is outstanding. Bowwows has implemented thorough policies and procedures that instill confidence in us as pet owners. As we drive up to Bowwows, we appreciate the secure grounds protected by electronic gates, and it’s evident that privacy and data protection are taken seriously here. Upon arrival, the dogs are welcomed warmly, entering into an atmosphere reminiscent of a nursery, accompanied by the gentle sounds of spa music or more energetic tunes during the summer. The facilities themselves are impressive, featuring spacious fields where the dogs can run freely in a secure environment. Bertie and Daisy enjoy structured playtime and the freedom to explore, ensuring their days are a delightful mix of fun and relaxation. They love the sprinklers, paddling pools, an assortment of toys and games that keep them engaged and active. On cooler days, there is underfloor heating inside, along with a cozy relaxation room where they can unwind and enjoy a cuddle after a busy day of play. Bowwows has truly become a second home and family for Bertie and Daisy, filled with love and care. The attention they receive mirrors the affection they would get from us as their own family. It is heartwarming to see how much they thrive in this nurturing environment. Every week, they return home well-rested and content after a day filled with adventures alongside their Bowwow friends. It's reassuring to know they not only receive excellent care but also thoroughly enjoy their weekly 24-hour stay. This allows them to come home happy and ready to relax after all the joy they've experienced. Bowwows is a haven for our beloved pets. Often I wish I could go in for a day of pampering and rest. “As a low carb vegetarian with a gluten intolerance, it’s fabulous to find a restaurant flexible and obliging enough to adjust their offerings to my atypical needs. Whilst hubby tucked in to his ribs with fries, my halloumi was served minus the rice or fries, but with a lovely range of (extra veg). It was so good that I asked if the halloumi I couldn’t manage could be boxed and the very friendly and obliging staff did just that. It’s so refreshing to find this level of service. My only critique is that the decor could be smartened up a little, but that did not detract from our experience.”

“This was our third event at Coombe Abbey Hotel, and once again they nailed it. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful—they’re on hand to make you feel comfortable, handle the little details, and keep things running smoothly from arrival to departure. The hotel itself is fantastic, with lots of quirky rooms and cozy spaces. The historic manor has real character, while the newer event suites offer flexible layouts for conferences, parties, or dinners. There are plenty of options to keep things flowing well, from big keynote sessions in bright, open rooms to relaxed networking in smaller corners. The grounds are a real highlight. There are plenty of nice spots for a stroll, photos, or a quick break between sessions. It’s a well-kept estate with a mix of formal lawns, pretty paths, and quiet corners that invite a bit of downtime. Overall, Coombe Abbey nails hospitality and atmosphere. The staff’s friendliness, the character of the spaces, and the lovely grounds come together to create a memorable event experience.”

“We enjoyed a one night stay here for a special birthday a few weeks ago. Our party booked 3 manor house master rooms which were all lovely and a great size. Our room Eastcote, was starting to to show a little bit of wear in a few places but overall it was very comfortable, especially the bed. We had dinner at the Warwick restaurant and absolutely loved it, the 5 course tasting menu was excellent and we felt reasonably priced for the quality. Breakfast was included with our stay and it didn't disappoint though the service was rather slow. We stayed with our dog and he was also made to feel welcome, a table was even set up in the lounge for us so that he could join us for breakfast! The grounds are large enough for a 20 minute walk and he was allowed to be left alone in the room while we had dinner. A bed and water bowl was provided along with a few poo bags and a packet of treats. Service through our stay overall was excellent and we felt very well looked after and we will certainly return.”

“My wife and I recently enjoyed a one-night stay at Grimscote Manor Hotel whilst attending a wedding at nearby Blyth Hall in Coleshill. Upon entering the property, I immediately recognised the unique buildings constructed within the grounds - as featured on George Clarke's Channel 4 TV programme! The hotel itself isn't quite as 'unique' but it does have a lovely charm and feel to it - owner Steven's personality is definitely present and in a positive way. We enjoyed a Superior Double room with breakfast and it offered superb value for money at £150 (especially when the government take the VAT from the price). Our accommodation was very clean, spacious and well-equipped. Given the generous floor area, a larger bed would be welcomed by some guest - but it was just right for ourselves. Even with a fabulous building, convenient location and everything you could need, it's the staff who take care of you who really make a place worth staying at. Georgie on reception was brilliant - professional, helpful and friendly. The team at breakfast did a great job, being welcoming and running a slick, efficient operation. If you are looking for accommodation whilst attending an event at the nearby Belfry golf club, enjoying the second city of Birmingham or just want to treat yourselves to a break, Grimscote Manor Hotel is highly recommended. “The Dusk ‘til Dawn Details team recently had the pleasure of styling a wedding at Hogarths Hotel and were so impressed by both the venue and the team. The setting is truly beautiful, from the light-filled Garden Suite, which makes the perfect backdrop for a wedding breakfast, to the breathtaking outdoor ceremony area surrounded by lush greenery. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, going above and beyond to ensure the day ran smoothly for our lovely couple. A special shout-out to Laura, who was an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish. If you’re considering Hogarths for your wedding, you can rest assured you’ll be in the best of hands. “I live locally so a great place to pop over to.. It's an old quaint traditional hotel pub restaurant..it's a Chef and Brewer and always has a great menu with offers..food is freshly made..good portions and lovely friendly staff..in the Summer you can sit outside by the river. Highly recommend”

“We stayed for just 1 night and was very pleasantly surprised. From the convenience of the free car park, to the friendly welcome on arrival (and throughout our stay), this is a very inviting place to stay. The room was good, being very clean and well equipped. Being on the front of the building, we wondered about High Street traffic, but it was fine, thanks to noise reducing windows. Nice clean towels and liquid soap and shower gel, along with kettle and tea and coffee, made this a very convenient room to stay in. The pub is nicely finished and, again, very welcoming with very professional, confident and positive / happy staff. Drinks were good, and the atmosphere is inviting. Being right on the High Street is also very convenient for a stroll through Coleshill. For the price, facilities, convenience and welcome I will not hesitate to stay again. After staying in a whole range of hotels around the world, right up to 5 star 'plastic' hotels, I would always now go for a place like the Coleshill. It is a far more intimate, friendly and welcoming stay!”

“Can I just say Wow! We stayed here for our corporate away day on the 12th - 13th of November and It was fantastic. The events team helped me with every query, The price was fanatic with everything that was included. The staff were lovely and accommodating, the meeting space we used for our all day meeting was great, rooms were super comfy and the food was 10/10. We will be considering to stay here again for our next away day, highly recommend.”

“Stayed at this hotel with work, and I was really impressed from my arrival. Plenty of parking, friendly staff and spacious rooms. I was greeted with a friendly welcome, and nothing was too much trouble. I had injured myself prior to visiting and staff were quick to help out. Even though they did not have any ice packs, they made sure to improvise and I couldn't be more grateful. Bar service was quick, and they accommodated a large party for dining. Food came out quickly and tasted great. A great sleep after a long drive!”

“I came for an overnight stay and was wowed as soon as I got there. It was lovely. Beautiful decor and room was a fantastic size. The spa was so relaxing and the food afrom the bar and restaurant was delicious. Had a bath in the room which was fab. Breakfast was all great quality products. Staff were friendly and professional. Cant wait to cisit again. The only downside was 1 of the beds mattress protector had a stain and the pillow was a little dirty but it did not ruin our stay at all staff were very accommodating”

“​The Holiday Inn Birmingham Airport-NEC truly exceeded expectations and ranks as the best Holiday Inn I have stayed at to date. ​The quality of the accommodation was excellent. The room was modern, impeccably clean, and provided a comfortable base for my stay. ​However, the real highlight was the food. The Open Lobby Restaurant offers a dining experience far superior to its competitors. Breakfast was well-cooked with a great selection to start the day. Crucially, the evening meals were excellent—a significant step up from other Holiday Inns—and were genuinely worth the money. It's rare for hotel dining to be a key selling point, but here, it absolutely is.”

“Great overnight stay to break our long journey. As other reviews mention, Beverley on reception was super friendly on arrival and have is all the info we needed for a smooth check in. She also organised a member of the team to fetch us some more conditioner to our room when we ran out, and didn't make is feel like we were causing trouble. The hotel is located near a retail park which is handy. Overall a great stay and we will stay there again too break our trips down to the south.”

“Stayed here for 2 nights and upon check in we got a complimentary upgrade to a pitch view room which was great! The bed in the room wasnt as big as we thought but there was plenty of space in the room! The staff member check us in was great and professional and even gave us complimentary breakfast which was amazing! Only pet peeve was that the AC in the room couldnt be turned off and the room would get cold pretty quickly...other than that great stay!”

“The Premier Plus room was amazing. Large, it was well furnished, well lit yet calm, in tones of grey, with purple up lights above bed head and fulsome full length curtains at the long window. The bed was very large, extremely comfortable and had lovely white bedding. Hanging cupboard with full length mirror on the face. Alongside there is a lighted vanity mirror, hairdryer in a holder. Great for doing hair and makeup. Great desk, office chair. Table lamp and real coffee maker and kettle for tea. Wing easy chair with footstool to relax in watching wall TV. Rain and standard shower in the roomy bathroom. All very clean. Spotless. Staff were excellent. Very welcoming and very helpful. Security locks on doors to access corridors to rooms. Good choice of cooked breakfast is served in adjacent stylish Bar+Block Steakhouse. I also had lunch there... delicious perfectly cooked rump steak and chips with salad. Again staff in here were very welcoming. Highly recommend. Excellent value for money too. You can be really comfortable here, located in the town centre, and with parking 5 minutes walk away, round the corner in multi story car park.”

“The Jacobean Hotel is on the Holyhead Road going out of Coventry in the direction of Birmingham. The bar area is a lovely place to go to for eats and drinks and if you need to you can stay in the hotel too. The Jacobean is in very pleasant surroundings. If you decide to try the outside seating, you can see the countryside area called Coundon Wedge which is a lovely place to go to for a walk. There are wooded areas there, fields and a stream, all of which is beautiful. The Jacobean Hotel in this lovely area, is highly recommended.”

“We booked a three night Christmas break at this hotel through Great Little Breaks. Having read through some of the previous reviews I was a little concerned whether I’d done the right thing. However we couldn’t fault anything. We booked a deluxe double which overlooked the golf course and the food and amenities were excellent. Nothing negative to say.”
