I stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton Coventry over the Christmas period for three nights and had a genuinely fantastic experience from start to finish. I’m a frequent visitor to DoubleTree hotels around the world, but this was my first stay at this particular property – and I can honestly say it now ranks amongst the very best I’ve stayed in, especially for service, friendliness and housekeeping. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by a fabulous receptionist who worked through most of the Christmas period. Sadly, I didn’t catch her name, but she was warm, professional and incredibly welcoming – a perfect first impression. The room itself was excellent and very much up there with the best DoubleTree standards: comfortable, spotless and clearly very well looked after by the housekeeping team. Breakfast was another real highlight. The quality was superb, the service faultless, and on Christmas morning there was even the option of champagne with breakfast, which added a lovely festive touch. A particularly charming surprise was finding two little Santa socks left on our door on Christmas Day, filled with chocolates, biscuits and a satsuma – such a thoughtful gesture and one that really made us smile. As always, it’s the people who make the difference, and the staff at this hotel are a real credit to the DoubleTree brand. Every interaction, from housekeeping to breakfast service, was friendly, attentive and genuinely warm. Location-wise, it was perfect for me – just a ten-minute drive from family and very well connected, with easy access into Coventry itself. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will absolutely be returning on future visits to Coventry. Highly recommended.

Great overnight stay to break our long journey. As other reviews mention, Beverley on reception was super friendly on arrival and have is all the info we needed for a smooth check in. She also organised a member of the team to fetch us some more conditioner to our room when we ran out, and didn't make is feel like we were causing trouble. The hotel is located near a retail park which is handy. Overall a great stay and we will stay there again too break our trips down to the south.

7 Dec 2025 Thank you for responding DoubleTree. Waiting for your response. We booked this hotel as part of a package for a concert at Coventry Arena, and the photos showed the Hilton at the arena itself. Unfortunately, the hotel provided was actually a 15-minute drive away, which was the first disappointment. Check-in was straightforward, and we were allocated room 135 on the ground floor. However, the room was uncomfortably cold on arrival (December stay), and one of the windows was particularly draughty and clearly not sealing properly. Being so close to the dual carriageway, it was also quite noisy. We asked to change rooms but were told the hotel was fully booked. The heating made a lot of noise ( useful to block out the traffic) but did not warm the room. At 4am we were disturbed by a single loud fire alarm beep — just one — with no further explanation or follow-up. After checking the corridor and seeing nothing amiss, we eventually went back to sleep. Unfortunately, the morning brought even more disturbances. Very early (while it was still dark), doors began slamming every few minutes, accompanied by loud conversations right outside our room. It became obvious that all three doors nearby were being used by housekeeping. The repeated door slams and noise meant we were up and ready for breakfast before 8am, despite hoping for a lie-in after a late night. Housekeeping eventually wrapped towels around one door to stop the slamming, but by then the damage was done — a restful night was impossible. At checkout we raised our concerns and were assured they would be passed on, but it didn’t take away from the fact that our overnight stay fell well below expectations. We were told that the fire alarm was for our safety but surely one very loud beep was a mistake as it was immediately rectified. On a positive note, the breakfast staff were excellent — warm, friendly, and extremely helpful. It’s just a shame this level of service didn’t extend to reception or housekeeping. Overall, we left feeling disappointed and very tired. For a one-night stay, a good night’s sleep is essential — and unfortunately, we didn’t get one. I would have expected a lot more from a hotel with Hilton in its title.

Unfortunately, this hotel does not meet the usual Hilton standards. I stayed for an extended period and had to change rooms due to cleanliness issues, including mould in the bathroom. While the lobby area is attractive, the guest rooms are very dated. My first bathroom was grubby and mouldy, and due to a wedding at the hotel, I had to wait several days before being moved. The second room, located on the fourth floor, was also disappointing, with poor shower pressure and unreliable water temperature. Breakfast was average at best. Service was consistently slow, coffee options were extremely limited with only basic black coffee included, and guests were required to pay extra for something as simple as a latte, on top of the price you paid for the breakfast, which is not consistent with other Double Tree Hotels. Parking is another drawback. At £8 per night for a hotel located right next to the motorway, the charge feels unreasonable, especially when many hotels provide free parking as standard. Overall, this property fell short in several areas including room quality, cleanliness, facilities, and value for money. I would not stay here again and would recommend considering alternative hotels that provide cleaner rooms, better breakfast options, and more reasonable parking arrangements.

Checked in and the reception lady wasn’t the friendliest but was alright at the end. We did get two chocolate cookies which were the best thing I’ve ever eaten! And we did get an upgrade to a deluxe room so shouldn’t complain. The room was immaculate, bit old fashioned, but very very clean which is the most important. And the bed and pillows were amazing! Breakfast was bad. The croissants and juice were fine, the rest was awful. Been out too long and lots out as if expecting people, when no one around. Not what you expect from Hilton. Swimming pool was ok, nothing amazing but did the job. Steam room wasn’t that great but they rarely are in these hotels. All in all not a bad stay, just not great.

I came up for the Crufts weekend and had a bit of a fall outside. Broken leg and ankle…. A massive thank you to Shaun (night manager) and Wing (health and safety) for looking after me until the ambulance arrived and taking care of everything I could no longer do. Thank you for looking after my son and dog until my wife managed to get up to Coventry and thank you for helping us out with absolutely everything we needed. You guys went above and beyond. The hotel and food was amazing and my wife really enjoyed the swimming and health centre. Would definitely recommend and most definitely stay here again. Lee

Arrived at about 6.30pm to a big smile and welcome from the lady on reception, Beverly. Checked in and offered a room, which after we found the bed springs really noisy, Beverly promptly offered us another room so we moved. We later had a few drinks in the bar which was very limited as they had run out of two or three beers from the pump, I had a pint of Stella which I returned as it was totally flat, the replacement wasn't much better, I then opted for a pint of pale ale which can only be described as poor ale, terrible. You do need to look after your beer better especially at the prices you charge. The breakfast was very nice and plenty. Overall the stay was very nice, the rooms need some love but otherwise very nice, and whatever you do keep hold of Beverly she's your main asset.

The hotel itself was very nice and the reception staff helpful and pleasant. The room was a good size and provided everything that we needed, and the bar area and conservatory modern. We had an enjoyable afternoon tea on arrival. There is a really good entertainment and dining complex over the road within easy walking distance. The biggest let down was the health club. One of the reasons we picked this hotel above others locally was that it had a pool, jacuzzi, steam room etc, which we looked forward to using. However the facility was in desperate need of refurbishment, every single piece of mastic in the changing room and by the pool area was discoloured, patched up, with many areas of black mould, the tiles were shabby, cracked and changing rooms generally grotty. If you don't plan on using the health club the hotel is great, but don't let it be the deciding factor, we stayed in about 20 minutes and wouldn't use it again.

Stayed here for work and the hotel couldn’t have been any better, the room was spacious and clean, there was a free gym and pool on site as well as a bar and restaurant. I’d had to book two nights but hadn’t been able to book consecutive due to works system but the staff ensured I had the same room both nights and just updated my keys the second day. Will definitely stay again when next in the area!
