Nice no frills hotel. Parking for the city is really convenient, easy check in, comfy bed, tea/coffee in the room, quiet and a good temperature. Room was small with very small bathroom, but it does what you need and it's clean.
Stayed here with my partner as we were attending a gig at the M and S Bank Arena. It's in a great location for the docks with most things within walking distance. Staff were lovely and welcoming. Rooms are basic but clean. They have a kettle and cups in the room and they provide coffee sachets and milk . The tv worked fine and was easy to use. The beds are hard and uncomfortable. We had a room facing the main road but we werent bothered by the noise, though the hotel do provide ear plugs should you want to use them.The shower room is really tiny. My partner is 6ft 2 so had to turn to the side when he was using the toilet. They provide some complimentary toiletries but we took our own. We didn't eat in the restaurant but the bar prices are really reasonable for a hotel. The free parking is a bonus in the city centre but we did pay £87 for the room which was probably above the odds. All in all it is a budget hotel which did the job for a night but we probably wouldn't want to stay any longer than that
I booked to stay at the Dolby hotel in Liverpool as I was going to a gig. Unfortunately, at the beginning of the show I was taken to hospital with intensive chest, back and stomach pains and had to stay in a&e all night. I messaged the property to explain and let them know I may not be released in time for first check out and to see if we could extend our check in as stated on the app it would be £15 until 4pm or £20 until 7pm to the discretion of the hotel. I did this because I needed to catch up on sleep before driving. They said they didn’t have the availability to offer a late check out (fair enough if it was left there) BUT he said we could have a late check out if we paid for another full night (£70+)?! We had checked and rooms were still available on booking.com so it wasn’t like they were fully booked and incapable of helping. When I got back to the hotel in the morning, I wanted to check if there was anything they could help with and the guy who answered my message on booking.com was on reception and reiterated we could only check out late if we paid another full night. Again, there were still rooms available to book and I would not want to put money into any company that didn’t act ethically so I found an alternative option and left at normal check in time to go and sleep elsewhere. I left an honest review on booking.com explaining how I felt the gentleman/hotel were not compassionate and cared more for money rather than my own welfare. I also praised the reception ladies as they were wonderful. An honest review. I did expect a response to it as it wasn’t wholly positive but what I wasn’t anticipating was the hotel putting false information into the world. Firstly, they turned it around on me saying I had prioritised saving money by not paying to extend and endangered the lives of other road users. This is false, I found an alternative place to sleep before continuing on my way. Secondly, they state that the hotel was going to be fully booked that night, but there were still rooms available the two times I asked about it which is why I feel they prioritised money over my wellbeing. Thirdly, in their response, they said the hotel was not responsible for holding a room for free even though they sympathised with my situation. I never asked them to extend it for free. I was more than willing to pay their extra fees advertised online which would have meant leaving around 2pm. What I wasn’t comfortable with was them trying to take advantage of my situation for monetary gain. It’s been an awful 48 hours which is only the beginning of what’s going on and now I’m contending with pushback and defamatory comments from the hotel. I’m sure I’ll have more here. But I will always stick up for what I believe is right and unfairness, which is standard policy. Below is my booking.com review which I thought was more than fair and their response. Moreover, there are pictures of the messages I sent from hospital and the response back stating I could only stay on a late check out if I paid the full nights fee, not the advertised amount. The final picture is what I sent to the hotel after seeing the review reply to clarify the rubbish they wrote. If you’ve got to the end, I want to reiterate that the girls who were on reception were so lovely. Made a great first impression when we came into the hotel and did a great job for the small time we spent there. This shows me it may be that one persons decision in a random situation could be at fault rather than the hotels ethos. But we shall see.
When my husband said he had booked a 2 star hotel because of the free parking, I wasn't too impressed! However this hotel turned out to be a gem! Rooms were spotless and daily housekeeping was of a very high standard. All the staff we encountered were very helpful and pleasant. We didn't eat breakfast here but it looked good and the dining room has a lovely waterfront view as did our room! Exceptional value for money!
We loved the hotel from the initial greeting to the last moment of our 4 night stay. Had breakfast on one day and it was very good. Used the well stocked bar every evening before turning in, very pleasant. Room 116 was adequate and was cleaned every day with fresh towels provided. Nice rear view over the dock. The bathroom was extremely small and my first reaction was to giggle. However, it proved to be sufficient even though turning in the shower managed to hit the mixer and sometimes turned it off! My score 4/5 and would book again next visit to Liverpool.
The hotel is not overly large could easily climb the stairs to our room on the second floor. The young man at the reception carried my case up. The room although small is very compact, everything you require for a short stay. Shower a little small but we managed. The bed was one of the comfiest I've encountered not too soft or too firm. We were struck with the cleanliness. Staff all very helpful and polite, nothing too much trouble. The restaurant overlooking the docks is comfortable and the food good, although I would have preferred more vegetarian options. Breakfast excellent offering an extensive range. We would definitely stay here again.
Stayed here for a gig at the students’ union. The staff were friendly and the food was good. Bar was still open when I got back around 11:30. Reasonably priced and good to have parking included. Whilst the room was basic it was perfectly good for a short stay and acceptable value for money.
Nice clean hotel. Breakfast lovely an staff friendly. The only thing I would say the bathrooms are tiny! It's about a 10 minute walk to the centre.
Fabulous Hotel Unbelievable Value for money. Room had everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay - comfy bed and pillow, tea & coffee making facilities, hairdryer, tv. Fabulous location, received a very warm welcome, staff were superb, had a lovely dinner and there is a free car park and free Wi-Fi. Room was clean and had everything needed plus ear plugs that we didn’t need despite being on the road side of hotel. We slept really well and heard no road noise. En-suite is small but well designed and everything worked perfectly. I would definitely recommend and we will definitely be returning
Great for a budget hotel. Staff are friendly. Rooms clean but don't expect exuberance. Toilet/showers are small pods but everything clean and working. Shower basic but hot. Good for dockside and 15 stroll from town
