I highly recommend Getaway Cars, specifically due to the incredible service we received from our driver, Mr. S Belmont, during a trip to York on November 24th. We were visiting from Newcastle and unfamiliar with the area when we ran into an unexpected issue. Mr. Belmont went completely above and beyond the duty of a standard taxi driver. He kindly drove us to a mobility shop to help us collect a wheelchair and then patiently waited to ensure we were all set before driving us back to our location. His kindness and compassion made a potentially stressful situation incredibly calm and manageable. It is rare to receive such genuinely thoughtful and supportive service. We had the good fortune of using this company on Friday to travel to the train station. I left my mobile phone in the back of the taxi, the driver, "Dean Squires" has gone above and beyond in posting the phone back to me, restoring my faith in human nature. Some other taxi companies would not have admitted finding it in the first place. This guy is a credit to the company, advocating an honest, trustworthy service.
Getaway Cars are fabulous for my mum, they are courteous, reliable and so helpful and kind for a lady with limited mobility. I feel very confident in entrusting them to take her to her regular activities now she is unable to drive any more.
Might as well be a 0 star due to a fact that our first booking since moving round here, after asking for a driver that allows dogs, cab driver refuses to take us because we had the dog (non shading puppy) !!!!! very unprofessional!!! will never use again!!!!

Booked a car well in advance, making very clear that the trip was for the bride and groom at the end of their wedding day to ferry them to their hotel. The car waited for 10 minutes and then left and we were told bluntly that no other car would come. I appreciate that the taxi couldn't wait forever, but we were trying to say goodbye to our 100+ guests and were outside only seconds after the car left. I would have thought that the driver might understand that on such big days things can often overrun slightly, but apparently not.
Just another taxi usually they do not always find where we are living they may have done this time round unfortunately the poor chap I called had too be sent away as was not sure what taxi company would be the best if say there was a bicycle or big things I used to use taxi for pet cat but there is no need
