My husband and I stayed at Portobello Hotel in August 2025. We had an amazing time. All of the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. The room itself was gorgeous - I wish I had photos to show everyone. Beautiful, spacious, and overlooked a lovely garden (note: private to next-door residents; not available for hotel guests). The entire hotel is classically elegant with a little eclectic twist. Food and amenities were also great. It's located in Notting Hill, which is very walkable. It's about 10-15 minutes to the nearest tube station as well. We had an amazing time here!

I loved this place! Quirky, luxe, and great location. The price is $$$$ especially converting from AUD dollars. The room and it's bathroom I had was small but the decor, bed and location made up for that.

SCANDALOUS-This hotel cannot handle PRM people -we had a high category room booked at the second floor -we were tought AT THE RECEPTION on our day of arruval that the lift was broken -we asked if they had a same category room that would be accessible, they told us we could have one on the ground floor -we get on with our day, come back to the hotel THE GROUND FLOOR ROOM HAD BEEN TAKEN AND THEY PUT US IN A LOWER GROUND ROOM WITH MORE THAN TEN STAIRS to get to it (Plus the room is gloomy and clearly not as good as the one we had asked for) -This is so scandalous that in 2025 hotel (moreover of this standing) cannot handle PMR poeple (Furthermore the fact that they dont even warn their guests per mail that their lift is broken shows how little they care about mobility issues and dont question themselves about validity-which is really cerise sur le gateau for a hotel, as we say in french)

We were quite disappointed; and must say the social media posts on this hotel definitely give the impression that it is more than it actually offers. Firstly, hospitality was lackluster. No effort for an early check in, despite a request months in advance, no help carrying bags when we arrived, room had one towel and didn’t get refreshed much, and the “bar/breakfast” is more of a make shift bar with no bartender and a continental breakfast. No one was rude, but again; was not real hospitality, which one would expect from a smaller boutique hotel. Most people at the front desk seemed inexperienced. We stayed a few nights and seemed like a new person every night. No one asked how our stay was going during our visit. Would expect more for the price. As for the room, we got their medium room and it was quite small, virtually no closet space. The bathtub was the best feature, but perhaps from what we saw on social media with the influencer posts one must get the most expensive room for the real space and view. To think they offer rooms smaller than what we got is mind boggling. It wasn’t a bad hotel, just disappointing. Location is great.

We spent 2 nights at this hotel before Xmas, and had a somewhat mixed experience. Firstly, the decor and style of the hotel is wonderful. We loved the Christmas decorations and tree in the main lounge downstairs, as well as the style of the rooms. The honesty bar in the lounge is also very nice, and the location so central in Notting Hill (as well as next door to the wonderful Michelin Star Core Restaurant) can't be beat. Having said that, some things let the stay down. There was a fire alarm at 10pm on our second night and we had to evacuate. This can happen, however with a 6 month baby who was previously sleeping soundly, this was quite an inconvenience and led to us standing on the street in our pyjamas for 15 minutes, followed by an hour of trying to get our baby back to sleep. There was no acknowledgement of the inconvenience afterwards or at check-out, and for a hotel of this price and quality, we think a small gesture to the people who were in their rooms when the alarm went off might have been appropriate. We also had a small issue with housekeeping who seemed to not focus on the sign hanging on the door, but rather whether you had handed your key back in at reception as a indication for whether you room was free to be cleaned. This would have been helpful to know in advance as again, with a baby, there were certain hours of the day that he was asleep. Overall the hotel worked fine for the main purpose of our trip (a lunch at Core), however we'd hesitate to book again as the overall experience didn't quite meet the price tag. It's certainly not a poor hotel, and we wouldn't discourage anyone else from staying there if Notting Hill is where they wanted to be based.

We stayed in the peacock room for our wedding and it was incredibly beautiful. The staff are all lovely and keen to help too.

Great boutique hotel on the heart of charming and vibrant Notting Hill. My room was in the 3rd floor and was just refurbished with great decoration. All the details were very well decorated with fantastic colors. All the details were just in place. The bathroom and the shower were just perfect. Congratulations Cristina, Andy and to the friendly and helpful staff. I highly recomend this hided gem in London, you will feel like localy living, having the views to the magnificent to Stanley Gardens from your room.

The personal service at this hotel amazing! The staff was helpful at stage of my travel. Easy walking distance to a tube line. Nice pubs and restaurants with in walking distance too. Hotel breakfast and cocktails were good quality and fairly priced. If I’m lucky enough to travel to London I’ll definitely stay here again!

We absolutely loved the Portobello! We had two rooms for our group. Both rooms were lovely, very clean, with all sorts of great touches. I’m a clean freak when it comes to bathrooms and hotel rooms, and everything was extremely clean. Staff was kind, helpful, and welcoming. Location was perfect as well, right in Nottinghill. Shops, cafes, restaurants all within walking. We will definitely stay again, next time we visit London. I highly recommend!
