This hotel is modern, clean and central. I am a croydon girl who returned for a family party. Croydo seemed pretty chilled. The rooms were well equipes. The staff at the hotel were welcomming and accommodating and most of all friendly and helpful. I will definitely be staying again.

For the price and location close to East Croydon station, along with a Sainsburys across the street and numerous dining options around, you can't really beat it. I stayed for two weeks on a budget vacation and overall I was very satisfied with the experience. You get what you pay for, but it's enough. The bed was comfortable, the view from the upper floors looking out at the city was very nice, and the room was spacious and functional. Noise was minimal unless I needed to have the windows open (there's a plug-in heater, but no AC which thankfully I didn't need in November). Power outlets were a little scarce, but there was at least one USB C and one regular outlet near the bed, and more at the room's table. The furnishings and appliances were worn down, but no more than you would expect from a budget hotel. The bathroom was clean and compact, though it could've really used an additional safety rail in the step-in shower, a new toilet handle, and a better exhaust fan. I did have a problem with finding bedbugs in the first room they offered me, but as soon as I brought it to the staffs' attention they were very apologetic and immediately got me a new, clean room which worked out great. So be mindful of that and check the mattress before you get settled in. The staff were all friendly and helpful through my entire stay (though a little pushy about leaving a review, understandably). It's nice that they have keycard-only entry after 11 PM, as the area isn't the greatest and you might be harassed by people on the street. Overall, I had a satisfactory stay, and I would recommend Travelodge Croydon if you need somewhere inexpensive to roost near London and you aren't too fussy about budget accommodations.

I stayed here two weeks ago and both myself and my partner woke up with multiple bites while sleeping. We reported it to reception immediately and were moved to a room directly below our original room – which is very poor practice when dealing with suspected bed bugs. Hotels should never move guests to an adjacent or vertically connected room, yet that’s exactly what happened. After staying in the second room, we woke up with even more bites. We complained, as this is completely unacceptable, and Travelodge said they would carry out a “professional investigation.” Their investigation claimed to find no evidence of bed bugs. However, another guest who stayed the same weekend publicly reported that they actually saw bed bugs in their room. I contacted Travelodge about this, but they continued to insist that there are no bed bugs here – even though three people had firsthand issues during that weekend. This was two weeks ago, and because they refuse to acknowledge the problem, it has not been treated. Which means the issue is likely worse now. I would not stay here if I were you. Travelodge are not taking their responsibility as a hotel seriously, and guest safety clearly isn’t a priority.

Affordable stay in a great location. Travelodge East Croydon is very close to the station, and it’s easy to get into central London ,around £15 total for a return trip. Lots of grocery shops nearby too, so the area is super convenient. Rooms are clean, spacious, warm, and have good hot water. Staff are friendly and helpful, and the front desk is available 24/7. Only downside: they’re very strict about the 3pm check-in unless you pay for early check-in. I did encounter bed bugs (saw two), so that definitely needs attention. Apart from that issue, everything else about the stay was great.

Rooms were the usual travelodge room but just a bit old tired and could have been cleaner, usual shower curtains that want to hug you and low pressure shower. No parking, ncp car park not far away but height restricted Breakfast was ok but not worth the price and service at Breakfast, got fed up of waiting to be seated so seated myself and just helped myself to the buffet breakfast (which had been paid for the night before)

Not amazing. Or terrible. The room smelt like cigarettes and the shower definitely wasn’t clean but I did still hop in as I had a meeting. The water was warm so that’s a plus haha. The bed was nice and the room was spacious. Save some money and get breakfast literally anywhere else though, I did not think it was worth the money. That all being said - The staff were very friendly!

I had a bad experience last time I visited as i had stayed at this hotel several times. It depends on the staff some or more understanding than others. My issue at all times are the keys. Most times they don't work. I have notice also when doing late checkouts that they do not upgrade their key to work if you go out on the day of departure. This is always a problem getting back in to the room. Also they do not inform the housekeeper as they often knock on the door at 12 mid day to ask when are you leaving. Which can be annoying. My last visit they couldn't find the booking on their system that i did a late check out and i had to go up and down the lift several time to prove that i had done so even tho i showed an email stating that i had paid. All this made us lose time from the extra 2 hours that we had paid for. The housekeeper and manger came back b4 2pm which we wasn't finished packing our things. We ask for an extra 15 minutes but was told that it wouldn't be possible. You would think after they had let us lose over 10 minutes going up and down the lift to prove that we had paid for late check out they would have and could have given us a bit more time to leave the room.

Rooms very not very well cleaned, carpets are disgusting, the whole place needs to be refurbished. The only saving Grace is how lovely and helpful the reception staff are. The entrance was garden to find, as I looked like a side door... Overall not impressed.

Worst Hotel I've ever been to! Had staff force entry into my room at 11pm (didn't even knock) for no reason and they ran off once they realised I was in the room, had 2 drunk women knock on my door at 3am laughing and running around the hotel. Rooms are definitely in need of a refurb; the hotel in general and it's guests are best described as very low quality.
