Overall, my stay was solid, but I have not yet received the £100 deposit I paid on my first day. It has now been a week since I checked out, and the amount has still not been refunded to my account. Please arrange the refund immediately. If the deposit is not returned by the end of this week, I will have no choice but to consider legal action. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

My stay at the Merit Kensington Hotel was largely positive, though I must say, the name confusion made it a bit tricky to find and confirm – I actually booked it under the name "Oxford Hotel." This difference can certainly make things harder for guests trying to locate it! The staff here were exceptionally accommodating, and the breakfast was good. Its convenient location was a plus, and our quiet, clean third-floor room, complete with a lovely rainfall shower and a useful makeup mirror, was a real highlight. While the Wi-Fi was generally acceptable, it could be inconsistent at times. Important Note on Room Allocation: We were initially put in a damp, dark basement room with poor phone reception. I suspect this type of room contributes to some of the lower reviews. Thankfully, the staff promptly and efficiently moved us to a much better room when I raised my concerns, demonstrating excellent customer service. I highly recommend the Merit Kensington Hotel, but with a strong piece of advice: be aware of the potential name confusion, and specifically ask for a room above ground level when you book. Doing so will help ensure you have the best possible experience and avoid any initial hiccups.

There was a somewhat unpleasant smell in the bottom floor where I stayed. There were silverfish in the bathroom and I could hear footsteps etc from the room above me. However the staff was lovely and the area was quite nice, especially happy with how close to the station Earls court it is.

Our stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and few negatives. The rooms were definitely worth the money—cosy, modern, and beautifully designed. The bathroom was a highlight, featuring a heated floor that made the experience even more comfortable. One odd inconvenience was that the bathroom was missing a toilet brush, which made things a bit awkward. The facilities were adequate for our stay. However, cleanliness was a major issue. The room was very dirty—the floor was covered in dust, the linens were stained, and we even found hair on the pillows. The air conditioning didn’t work, but the staff provided us with a small, broken heater that surprisingly worked perfectly fine. Another inconvenience is the 100£ pre authorizing that they have as a policy upon the check in which they release upon check out, something that we knew about but still count it as a negative as we were on a budget. On the bright side, the staff was kind and accommodating, and the location was excellent—right next to Earl’s Court and plenty of dining options. Despite the cleanliness issues, we enjoyed our stay overall and would consider returning for the convenience and comfort.

Not sure why it’s rated low, as we had an excellent experience! Hotel is located at a great location on Earl Court, with the District and Piccadilly line. It is a bit confusing with the hotel name as is called a different name and the reception is shared with a number of different hotels on the street. Room is very clean and during our stay we had no issues with sound proofed rooms. The staff were friendly and let us leave our luggage before check in. My one complaint is they weren’t too vigilant in checking we were taking the correct luggage as it is all kept in the hotel foyer so this could be a safety concern. Other than that, we would definitely return!

The Oxford Hotel in Earl's Court is actually the same as the Merit Kensington (you will in fact check in there). Rooms are clean (low reviews are largely from a very long time ago) and there is hot water in the shower and AC/heating when needed. WiFi is strong and stable, and the location is great - very short walk away from Earl's Court station, many cafes and restaurants, Hyde Park, etc. Enjoyed my stay here with my wife in March 2023.

Perfect for in the city short holiday getaway! Location is quite good as you have a 3-4 minutes walk to the tube station. Hotel looks nice, since it's renovated. Interior is cosy but not too glam and luxurious. Reception is in another building so it can be confusing when you want to check-in.

Very basic room, in one of lots old houses. Saying that, it was extremely clean, modern and everything was there to make my overnight stay lovely. Definitely recommended.

Location is quite good as you have a 3-4 minutes walk to the tube station. We've had a room next to the lift and could hear everyone using it. Room was also small - didn't spend much time inside so it was okay. Hotel looks nice, it is renovated. Reception is in another building so it can be confusing when you want to check-in.

My husband and I had a very nice stay here. This was the perfect place to start our trip. Our room was compact with a full bed, street facing. There is just enough space for two adults and two medium sized luggage bags. The room was very clean, and all of the staff were extremely kind. We both really appreciated the quietness of the hotel at night. The hotel is literally around the corner from the metro and there are a number of restaurants and convenient stores as well.
