Booked early evening and advised that I'd be there between 10pm and 11pm,still within valid check-in time, due to an urgent meeting request and long journey. Had to wait a few minutes at reception with no pager or bell, so then rang hotel phone number and someone came shortly after,to answer the phone. Staff pleasant. My room was upstairs, including needing to go up quite a few stairs and through a very low doorway (5ft perhaps), but room was quite good. Bathroom looked old but clean. Reasonable price and good location for an NHS hospital meeting.

My mother and her friends (ladies in their senior years) regularly lunch in the bar area. The grounds are beautiful and in the summer the outside seating area is lovely. Today, 10.12.25, I want to give positive feedback to the kind and professional waitress who looked after the ladies and organised appropriate seating for them, in spite of the bar area being busy. That was much appreciated. I felt confident when I left them that they would be well looked after. The young lady on reception today was also professional, friendly and welcoming. I suppose that the prices are appropriate for the lovely venue, but cutbacks to the little extras like crisps and reduced salad garnish with sandwiches are a shame. Still my motherβs (92) favourite venue for meeting up with her friends.

We attended a wake here. The staff were polite, respectful and attentive. Parking was easy. The hotel is beautiful, immaculately clean, in a stunning location and had a relaxing atmosphere. The food was excellent quality and delicious. (We didn't use or see the bedrooms.)

Very nice rooms. A classic, old style hotel. Good price for the standard of service. Nice food and pleasant staff. Not a great deal of atmosphere, a little background music may be nice, but understand that is not to everybodys taste.

Great hotel tip stop at if youβre travelling between Dover and Holyhead. The grounds are really very nice with an arboretum and long driveway back to the road. We needed somewhere with reasonably secure parking and this tucked the box. Breakfast was a cooked buffet but all was fresh with the chef regularly topping things up. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious and clean although it could maybe use a new mattress. Maybe just personal taste. Would definitely stay again if we needed somewhere to stay in the area.

Well. What a find, lucky me. A fabulous, well maintained hotel, set in acres of land with many spaces to just sit and relax.. Brilliant team of people, professional without being stuffy. Louise in particular made me feel really welcome.. My room was in a pretty annexe in the grounds of the hotel, it was well sized and airy, the bed was comfortable, great view of the garden's , and so quiet.. which for me was a priority. Breakfast was delicious, great selection of good quality dishes to choose from: I had great stay, thank you so much. Questions. Would I visit again? Definitely. Should you go and check it out? Absolutely... Enjoy...

Brady in the bar restaurant went above and beyond. It was extremely busy so the waiters were fully engaged for a lot of the time. Brady was serving behind the bar. he saw people in the bar area were waiting for refills of drinks. He stepped up and provide a very smooth service in collecting used cups and replacing with new order. Excellent service!

Really a beautiful hotel, full of charms, very comfortable beds, very well equipped throughout. Graham, Irene and Edouard were just some of the staff whom were very attentive and professional. Breakfast was absolutely perfect, with a selection of fresh fruits, salmon and full English Breakfast. Would highly recommend it :)

Went as a guest of a very dear friend for lunch in the bar/restaurant. Excellent meal, can highly recommend the mixed salmon & fish fishcake with spinach & poached egg. Lovely venue overlooking the gardens. Would definitely return again.

Truly a gem In our locality. We enjoyed an excellent 3 course dinner and overnight stay followed by a full English. The service was excellent. Accommodation spacious and comfortable.... could have been warmer for my comfort. The highlight for me was the walk around the extensive arboretum. We shall return.
